I emailed Ms Mendez to show her this article, and she was not best pleased. I invited her to post a comment, but nothing’s appeared as yet.

However she did mention that the wording came from the vendor, it’s not her own work. I’m not sure whether this should therefore disqualify her from the award, or whether as the publisher she’s still responsible for the words.

In traditional print publishing, it’s “always the publisher’s fault”, and in broadcasting the producer takes responsibility. I’m guessing a similar idea should apply here.
