They want to feel outrage, they like to see their expectations thwarted and their standards denied. It's nothing more than random noise really, mainly because it happens so much and it's light on thought. I'm not sure why people bother, but people are generally weird and fucked up. If people took the time to criticise properly with a semblance of reasoned thought, well that's a different story (the novelty!)
