To see outrage that can only be of the type where the writers have only gone there to work themselves up is; http://www.tshirthell.com/miscpages/newsletter/newsletter_012108.php
If you are easily offended, I really don't recommend this site. I know that wont stop the R.O.'s though. You'll just write them a letter to say how offended you are and come back here and abuse me for mentioning it!
The irony of these sorts of posts just delights me.

There is a class of person (not a very high-quality class, but a class nonetheless) who enjoy being offended. They want to feel outrage, they like to see their expectations thwarted and their standards denied. It gives them a little thrill, in reference to which I would probably use the word "frisson" if I were, you know, a wanker.

And who are we to deny them their enjoyment?

Let the poor sad buggers vent. It gives them something to do. It's that or sexually assaulting the cat.

Random, anonymous flaming on the interweb falls somewhere in between "meh" and "bleh" on the reaction scale. It's nothing more than random noise really, mainly because it happens so much and it's light on thought. I'm not sure why people bother, but people are generally weird and fucked up. If people took the time to criticise properly with a semblance of reasoned thought, well that's a different story (the novelty!)

@Taz: Mayhaps, and I'm all for differences of opinion. Freedom of speech n'all. But there's one big step, I reckon, between humour (sarcastic or not), and going out of your way to call someone a brain-dead arsehole. And a big difference between attacking an action or behaviour and attacking the person.

Perhaps they are, like you, simply voicing an opinion.

Some people enjoy sarcastic humor, some do not..,I don't mind it myself, when the humour outweighs the sarcasm.....

Perhaps for those who replied, they felt the scale was tipped in sarcasm's favour.
