I just found this photo of me which ’Pong took in July 2002. I’m now using a version on my Twitter profile. Should it be my permanent image?

[This article was first published in Crikey yesterday.]
This morning Australians woke to the news that Google’s Street View has taken photos of their street, their office, their school — their home! — and published them for all to see. Doubtless we’ll now see a flood of stories screeching “Invasion of privacy!” Hardly.

Jeez, people, you need to toughen up a bit! I was doing my morning shower’n’shave ritual and hadn’t quite finished cleaning up after the shave… and I didn’t appreciate being disturbed. It’s not that bad, is it?
I have some, erm, far more disturbing photos I could post if you like…?
