In plan view it looks like a cobra poised to strike. There's another obvious, if crass, reference point: 'Ribbed for Her Majesty's Pleasure'? Then again, I think Manchester's Jubilee Baton looks like a hand-held metal detector in that pic. (Not a bad idea for Manchester.) 'A wolf, a raven, and an "eagle with a frog in its mouth"'?
