@Garth: hat’s a well-spotted connection, thank you. And you’re right — we get so wrapped up in our day-to-day problems that we forget that we are, by world standards, very very wealthy indeed. You or I could forego 1% of our income and massively transform the lives of an entire village.

Will we, though?
