Cnutful nominations for Episode 28?

Cnut of the Week graphic

Yes, it’s that time of the week, time to call for nominations for “Cnut of the Week” for tomorrow’s edition of Stilgherrian Live (9.30pm Thursdays Sydney time).

It’s the same rules as usual. We’re after people (or abstract forces of nature) who’ve been futilely trying to hold back the tide of digital change.

Who do you nominate, and why?

[Update 9am: It's been pointed out to me that it's not just digital change we're talking about here, but any relentless tide of change.]

I’ve just received a nomination from someone too cnutful to write it here himself. He says:

John McCain, for his shameless election campaign grandstanding. First, Sarah Palin and now, suspending his campaign due to bad polli… sorry I mean the current financial crisis.

    So who do you nominate?

I nominate not John McCain, but his campaign strategists for their ham-fisted attempts to prevent any further self-exposure of Sarah Palin as the clueless dickhead she is — by quarantining her from media questioning and scrutiny of any kind whatsoever.

(And if US voters can’t see that level of media stage management for what it is, then we’re all fucked.)
