@SnarkyPlatypus OK, I think we’ve set the tone for the week, our work here is done.

@jeffsonstein XML and opcodes in your tweets. Geek, much? Naaaaaaaaaaah!

@jeffsonstein @SnarkyPlatypus “Total Eclipse of the Heart” has the most sensible music video of any song ever. http://is.gd/p7Q

Mon plan: Desk work while awaiting deliveries of hardware & software for client project; gym & dinn@SnarkyPlatypusPlatypus; rain; oxygen.

@SnarkyPlatypus I’ll have a mirror ball while you’re there. Unfaceted, though.

@jeffsonstein A friend of mine has coined the phrase “disturbing imagery alert”, and calls on from time to time when I’m talking…

@DenubisX If you watched The Gruen Transfer then maybe I should watch you. To make sure you don’t do it again.

Emerges into the soggy world of Monday. I didn’t cause the sogginess. The property manager still hasn’t scheduled a roof fix. Medieval cunt.

Evaporating. Gaseous form is less stressful for all involved. Except those downwind.

via Twitter Web Client

@jeffsonstein Hmmm… That is not a good sign. I’ll have to look at this WD stuff in more detail. Client as guineapig, does not want!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@agronaught Heh! Seems there’s lots of nifty appliance-like NAS hardware out there ready for teh hackerage. Fun for all the family!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to agronaught

@smperris Correction. They ALREADY run Linux, so you can SSH to them and start hacking away. And so can the Bad Guys, presumably. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@smperris OTOH, you can just hack the WD World Edition drives and run Linux. End of problem. http://is.gd/oY7 A 500GB RAID server for $400.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

I’ll phone WD in the morning and clarify the situation.

via Twitter Web Client

@smperris Yes, the idiocy is WD’s assumption that a media file belongs to someone other than the drive owner, when we MAKE them ourselves.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@smperris @agronaught Media file restrictions appear to be with WD’s bundled remote access software, not the drive itself. http://is.gd/oXU

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@smperris WD may well be the one that had that media file restrictions, I’ll have to look. Wasn’t relevant to my client’s application. ta.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@agronaught (Have not personally used it, but from specs and WD’s reputation, it seems the best value for $ currently. Will know in a week.)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to agronaught

@agronaught Home NAS? Try Western Digital My Book World Edition II. 1TB model (2 x 500GB drives) gettable for AUS$400. Gigabit Ethernet etc.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to agronaught

@Grymhorn Welcome to you too… please be gentle with @mpesce, he thinks he understands Adelaide but the risk is high. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Grymhorn

@nickhac Welcome to my Twitterworld. Tonight it’s all about pork, but the week my reveal other things.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to nickhac

Sated by both The Gruen Transfer and @ApostrophePong’s roast organic pork porterhouse dinner. One of them is causing restricted movement.

via Twitter Web Client

Has anyone noticed how @wolfcat appeared only when @mpesce disappeared? Both at Adelaide airport. Spooky. Same person?

via Twitter Web Client

@mpesce And yeah, what @SnarkyPlatypus said. What happened to “Hold the freak flag high”? That implant IS working..

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@mpesce Adelaide is normal? Man, you have just proved that the brain implant from your last visit is working. Well done.

@tibbetts_sound Ditto re audio keyframes. From p667 of the manual: “You can add keyframes for any audio filter parameter.”

via Twitter Web Client in reply to tibbetts_sound

@tibbetts_sound This may have changed. The Final Cut Express manual talks about timecode: 128 mentions in the PDF file!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to tibbetts_sound

Currently being blown away by Final Cut Express. EVERYTHING needed for video post-production in a sub-$200 package. Times have changed…

Back on the grid, for what it’s worth. @garthk I WAS home, just asleep.

@adampurcell Not “news” as such, but the Sydney Apple Store is due to open 19 June.

Retweeting @LacqueredStudio (because it deserves a wider audience): “A fist isn’t love until it touches the heart.” Welcome to my Monday. ;)

Retweet @cameronreilly: I love the way Charles Stross deal with trolls in his comments section. http://snurl.com/2by3j I agree.
