Why doesn’t the network printer appear on the network? ‘Cos someone plugged it into ONE computer by USB. Network printing problem solved.

@SnarkyPlatypus Oh do I HAVE to do the whole Taurine/ambulance thing AGAIN? [sigh]

@mhawkins1970 @middleclassgirl As time goes on, we ALL look more and more like Don Lane. He is the ultimate destination of evolution.

@SnarkyPlatypus There are drugs for all sorts of things, but I’m sure I haven’t the faintest idea what you’re talking about.

I’m still trying to decided (speaking of indecisiveness!) whether I have the energy for a “Stilgherrian Live” tonight.

via Twitter Web Client

@seijaku0 Whichever the client, yes, it’s always the same issues. Starting off with indecisiveness.

Mobile. Enmore Rd / Newtown station / Central station / Surry Hills client / further network configuration on-site. Low attention continues.

A Certain Client’s plans have changed three times so far this morning. I sometimes wonder how they get anything actually, you know, done.

@irldexter I think one can discuss the ethics & politics of WHAT can be done without getting too far into HOW it’s achieved technically.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to irldexter

@firstdogonmoon Happy birthday to you. I hope those bastards treat you with the respect you deserve, or at least get you drunk.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to firstdogonmoon

@irldexter I don’t see why ANYONE needs to get low-level anything, except people specifically working in that field.

I’m fairly busy today, but you can read “Eve Ensler doesn’t want to hear about your vagina” http://is.gd/soNf Thank you, @TheBloggess

@wheelyweb Oh, send your captions to @crikey_news, not to me. ;) I’m not in the Melbourne office, I cannot help you win.

RT @crikey_news: Caption Contest: Caption this photo of Ministers for Internets http://is.gd/sKVW @-reply with your answer. Best wins prize.

Dear Virgin Mobile, when I send an SMS on Saturday I expect it to arrive slightly earlier than 1845 Thursday.

@duncanriley Agreed the real issues are economic, but it’s nice to get the tech out of the way to focus on them.

via Twitter Web Client

@duncanriley Agreed, it’s only the armchair network “experts” who have simplistic views about which is “best” technology.

@ValerioVeo All comms is subject to Shannon–Hartley http://is.gd/sPP1 Wireless = one shared “channel” for all in that cellbn

via Twitter Web Client

@danfarm I’d say criticising one Crikey piece about tech for “ignoring” the business case ignores all the other pieces published.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to danfarm

I’ll fight the sore throat, I think, so no “Stilgherrian Live” tonight. I’ll respond to various comments tomorrow. Or not at all.

Time to head back towards the village.

via Twitter Web Client

@ValerioVeo It’s worth remembering that business, economics and politics are also factors in choosing a broadband system to build.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ValerioVeo

@ValerioVeo Whether Korea is investing or not (for whatever reasons), doesn’t change physics. Wireless will always have those issues cited.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ValerioVeo

@SnarkyPlatypus It sounds like have failed to kill the account when you transferred out.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@duncanriley And yet those myths have been promulgated. Has he not stuck with the tech ones, not the monetary ones? [I’m a tad behind.]

via Twitter Web Client in reply to duncanriley

Crikey: “Five broadband myths busted”, a must-read I reckon. http://is.gd/sHUV

@dnwallace Ah yes, “Newspaper Appreciation Day”. Is it over yet? ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to dnwallace

@SnarkyPlatypus “The John Howard memorial quarter hour?” Gawd, we had eleven fucking years of nostalgia with that old toad!

It appears that my work in Surry Hills has gone smoothly. I’ll now retire to a nearby hostelry and decide about “Stilgherrian Live”.

via Twitter Web Client

RT @sophblack: Alright, alright. One whisky. [ I’m glad someone’s making sense today.]

via Twitter Web Client

“Record Store Day”? WTF? http://is.gd/sHGV What next? Ox-cart Appreciation Week? Morse Telegraph Month? Hat-tip @SnarkyPlatypus.

via Twitter Web Client

@jeamland But I got it right LAST time: Drink with Taurine; heart palpitations; call ambulance. What could be simpler?
