@R_Chirgwin Methinks I escaped the Mountains at the right time, though the BoM seems to have dropped the forecast for snow tomorrow.

“All non-essential travel in the Blue Mountains should be postponed”, says @nswpolice http://arseh.at/8oc

@peterjblack Alan Ginsburg is a Supreme Court judge? Well well well…

RT @NickHodgeMSFT: I’d bet you look good in crinoline. http://is.gd/p1iwCB [Yeah, I’d be up for that. I should make arrangements…]

Oh dear God, I was actually a member of that “PSI” club! http://arseh.at/8oa Memories are returning…

via TweetDeck

Oh. I have to retract that. The Angle Park Computing Centre had an IBM System/370, very similar. http://arseh.at/8oa http://arseh.at/8ob

RT @NickHodgeMSFT: Oh, I heard that you were one of the first programmers on one of these http://is.gd/e6ygiN [You may call me Ada.]

via TweetDeck

RT @joshgnosis: Best computer ever. http://yfrog.com/h8b94vbj [Ah, that’s what I did my very first programming with.]

@BennettArron Thank you. Though brains are usually good with breadcrumbs and lightly fried in butter. There’s hope for me yet.

@PointZeroOne Let me guess. Windows server internally on default configuration? It always assumes it owns the base domain. /cc @BundyB

I daresay there’s emails and @replies to respond to, stories to write, editors to placate, but… y’know… my brain is dead. Poke it. See?

via TweetDeck

The “www is mandatory” thing, @PointZeroOne @BundyB? Yeah, I had a go at Harvey Norman for that. http://arseh.at/7b0

Eventually, I complete my journey to Sydney, retrieve my suitcase, arrive at my SEKRIT hideaway and sloth a bit. I am quite exhausted.

via TweetDeck

Most tweets are not as funny as you think they are. Ditto what they link to.

via TweetDeck

@RatbagsDotCom Fear not. Your information about the trains was accurate at the time you gave it. They were killed shortly thereafter.

via TweetDeck in reply to RatbagsDotCom

Getting on the train at Penrith that I could have joins at Wentworth Falls had I waited half an hour. Nearly empty. Adequate RI.

via TweetDeck

Penrith, finally.

via TweetDeck

@R_Chirgwin Highway was clear all down to Springwood.

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

East of Woodford traffic smooth and fast. Looks like people are, sensibly, avoiding the Great Western Highway.

via TweetDeck

Traffic jam at Woodford.

via TweetDeck

Katoomba-Penrith trains have just resumed, but buses will continue to supplement for a couple hours. I’ll stay on the bus for now.

via TweetDeck

@R_Chirgwin Dunno where the highway is blocked, but CityRail warns that the buses are delayed.

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

The bus pulls out of Wentworth Falls, bound for Penrith. It chugs.

via TweetDeck

So, no trains. Limited replacement buses. Buses slow due to blocked highway.

via TweetDeck

Oh indeed, the Katoomba-Central trains were killed at 1130 too. Also, no electricity in Wentworth Falls. Patience.

Wed plan: 1231 train Wentworth Falls to Central; food; collect suitcase Camperdown; head to SEKRIT hideaway; re-plan writing schedule.

via TweetDeck

That tweet right there is proof that I’m an idiot.

via TweetDeck

I think I’ll delay doing anything for another 2 hours. There may be less pain, less freezing involved, and less stupidity on the internet.

via TweetDeck

@R_Chirgwin I suppose I should coordinate travel with you, assuming there are ways of getting to the city at all today.

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

If this is Wednesday, I’m not particularly impressed so far.
