RT @oberonsghost: Is it that cold in the mountains tonight? [Well, that won’t account for ALL the plutonium…]

via Janetter for Mac

UK’s plutonium stockpile is many tons. Enough to make 10,000 nuclear weapons. It costs £80 million a year to store and manage.

via Janetter for Mac

If the UK doesn’t want all that plutonium, I’ll have it.

RT @paulwallbank: @stilgherrian do you spend your days just riding the train between Emu Plains and Penrith? [Pretty much.]

@NGruen1 @phbarratt Actually I didn’t mention kids. Computers have no magic age-detector. It’s about allowing a remote site to change stuff.

via Twitter for Windows Phone in reply to NGruen1

@Pozible Oh ta, wasn’t expecting an official response on the weekend.

via Twitter for Windows Phone in reply to Pozible

@SnarkyPlatypus Yeah, it’s well worth generating strong, random passwords for every different service.

I have my replacement internets. Served by the same chap at Telstra Shop Penrith, so it was all very easy.

@scottcarson1957 @BernardKeane There is much that I don’t understand about Nauru, including its “financial services industry”.

@NGruen1 @phbarratt It’s a sensible security measure, to stop passers-by changing your machine. And some free apps have in-app purchasing.

BernardKeane Rudd is announcing a deal that will mean Nauru will both process and resettle asylum seekers, like PNG.

via TweetDeck (retweeted on 3:20 PM, Aug 3rd, 2013 via Janetter for Mac)

“PM Rudd has today signed an Arrangement with the President of the Republic of Nauru Baron Waqa regarding unauthorised maritime arrivals.”

via Janetter for Mac

I certainly hope it’s not the election date announcement, ‘cos I’m not ready for that yet.

via Tweetbot for iOS

justinbarbour OR IS HE. RT @samanthamaiden: Rudd is NOT calling an election in that Brissie press conference.

via Tweetbot for iOS (retweeted on 2:34 PM, Aug 3rd, 2013 via Tweetbot for iOS)

RT @KerrieYaxley: Kevin Rudd’s office says his 245pm press conference is not about the election date. [Like they’d know. Pah!]

Bowen and Wong just sent out an attack press release, claiming “drastic” budget cuts if Coalition wins. It’s on.

How long does it take @Pozible to turn around a project approval?

Mobile: Walk dirt track then Railway Pde to Wentworth Falls; 1436 train to Penrith; 1537 run the errands; remainder TBA.

via Janetter for Mac

@John_Hanna He can announce when he’s making the visit.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to John_Hanna

The Prime Minister has just called a press conference for 1440 AEST at the Commonwealth Parliamentary Offices in Brisbane. Is this “It”?

via Janetter for Mac

Sat plan, draft 3: Frustration; errand to Penrith, working en route; 2 x posts; complete corruptednerds.com episode 3.

“What’s really driving our panic over asylum seekers?” asks (and answers) @GreenJ abc.net.au/news/2013-08-0…

via Janetter for Mac

I can foretell the future up to two or three hours ahead. My future is that I will be going to Penrith to sort out a few things.

@leslienassar I believe that at this stage you need a young priest and an old priest. (HT @charliepick for that line.)

So I may have to re-plan my plans for the weekend. I have a complicated collision of data overruns and cashflow considerations. Bother.

via Janetter for Mac

No thanks to Nokia, whose “Welcome” pamphlet for the Lumia 925 doesn’t mention that software at all. Grrr. I wasted hours.

via Janetter for Mac

I’ll confirm that. If you already use default Apple iPhoto/Aperture import workflows, Windows Phone for OS X will just work.

via Janetter for Mac

Also, @jplonie @franksting, it might’ve been easier if I’d previously used the default Apple-iPhoto workflow.

via Janetter for Mac

In fairness, @jplonie, had I known about Windows Phone for OS X from the start it’d be easier. Not mentioned in Nokia docs.

via Tweetbot for iOS

Hmmm… The sync isn’t behaving itselfal

via Tweetbot for iOS

OK, @jdub @crazyfun_nicol, after restarting all the things, Windows Phone for OS X detects the Nokia Lumia 925 and syncs.

Well, I’ll back up everything and then restart all the things. Because the backup was already running.

via Tweetbot for iOS

This is a sad thing to say, but I’m going to try rebooting all the things.

via Janetter for Mac

@RealNickHodge Yeah the WP8 automount on W8 makes sense, ‘cos the Windows account and certificates are all in place.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to RealNickHodge

Sadly, @jdub @crazyfun_nicol, Microsoft’s Windows Phone for OS X app did not detect the Nokia Lumia 925 just now.

@CloudRewrite @NewtonMark Much as I’m sure you have an interesting service, there’s no way I want my bank working with beta technology.

The apparent temperature at Mount Boyce has in fact now dropped to -5.1C. Lovely. Mind you, it’s looks a stunning Blue Mountains day.

@SnarkyPlatypus Bonjour. J’évite le froid, mais mon esprit est plein de possibilités. Ceux-ci seront étranges jours. Et vous?
