@gavincostello Thanks very much. Positive reaction has been stronger than I thought it might have been.

@dananimal That’s right. The formatted versions are on the web, of course, but the markup wouldn’t be that big a task in the grand scheme.

@PeteLawler Thanks. I’m using AVG Cleaner for the same task, and it already has the data. I think I know what’s going on.

via Plume for Android in reply to PeteLawler

@dananimal Oh most of my writing is formatted by the masthead, so I work in plain text in BBEdit. But that’s a side issue really.

via Plume for Android in reply to dananimal

Hmmm… Since yesterday, I think, something is chewing through the battery life on my Android phone.

What if we just gave all the Australian ISPs to Alan Joyce to run? That could work.

@dananimal Well that’s the decision that I’m making, hence the conversation.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to dananimal

@dananimal Thanks, though yes that would be overkill if InDesign is involved.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to dananimal

@PeteLawler Ah, iBooks is Apple’s reader for eBooks, as Kindle is Amazon’s.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to PeteLawler

@havyatt @PeteLawler Indeed. I’m still at the initial stages of thinking everything through.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to havyatt

@havyatt @PeteLawler Thanks for the suggestions. PDF means the users can’t adjust the text size, though. But maybe I’m over-thinking it.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to havyatt

@leslienassar Ah OK. I don’t need complex formatting, but the text would be interspersed with full-page images etc, so Vellum is not it.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to leslienassar

@leslienassar So what’s best for producing Kindle format on OS X? Pages, exported as ePub for import into KDP?

via Janetter for Mac in reply to leslienassar

@leslienassar Last I looked at Vellum, though, it seemed to be focussed on books that were mostly chapters of text?

via Janetter for Mac in reply to leslienassar

@leslienassar Oh good, ‘cos obviously I want to avoid duplicate production workflows.

Heading down the “How to format eBooks for both iBooks and Kindle” rabbit hole.

via Janetter for Mac

@posty Thanks. My current thinking is that the eBook would include an exclusive overview essay as well as a compilation of older work.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to posty

@franksting Thanks. While the output was a variable, not getting to the ebook-as-reward wasn’t such a flash look. But that I can make good.
