@alias_steven @XanderPlooy Saying that “A has property X” does not mean that I said “B does not have property X”.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to alias_steven

@XanderPlooy Yes well that’s what the folk call “driving engagement”. A fancy work for attention-seeking.

@SnarkyPlatypus Well LinkedIn is pretty much designed to data-mine people’s working lives in order to spam them.

I read and deleted about half a dozen before the whole thing became too disheartening and I logged out again.

I just logged into LinkedIn for the first time in about two years. What an amazing accumulation of messages that never got read.

@jturner_ibrs And lessons we learnt from infosec overall is that it’s all pretty crap. More sophisticated defences, same old attacks work.

@portusprince Exactly. No wonder God sent down the Flood.

RT @virag064: @stilgherrian @wikiHow there will NOT be Morris Dancing. [Quite right too. Also, it looks silly when you do it alone.]

@janinesymons Ah good. Much of the world will be saying the Solstice is on 21 Dec, but we’ll already be in 22 Dec.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to janinesymons

@janinesymons Oh I just realised I may have interpreted your question backwards, but either way, the Solstice is a specific moment.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to janinesymons

@janinesymons The Solstices are a specific astronomical line-up, so yes, 1003 AEDT in Sydney, 0933 ACDT in Adelaide, etc.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to janinesymons

Of course if God had created the Solar System with any kind of care, then the two events would coincide perfectly. Shoddy work.

via Janetter for Mac

For us in eastern Australia, the Solstice is on Monday morning at 1003 AEDT, and the New Moon follows shortly afterwards at 1236 AEDT.

Earlier today I posted “Weekly Wrap 237: The week before Christmas, kinda” should you care even a tiny bit. stilgherrian.com/weekly-wrap/23…

So “The 9pm Summer Scrounge” isn’t going all that well. I should probably promote it. skank.com.au/news/subscribe… pic.twitter.com/6lOKexzDou

RidT Funny how America keeps loosing its *first* cyberwar, again and again — at least since John Hamre started the trend in early 1999.

RT @SnarkyPlatypus: Why is it acceptable to buy chardonnay again? [Memory loss.]

Oh look. It’s failed again.

I love* it when every iteration of troubleshooting a procedure involves sending nearly a gigabyte of data across the internet.

Sun plan, draft: Rearrange all the plans again, because annoying; chicken; minor sysadmin tasks; blog posts x 2; a certitude of wine.

via Janetter for Mac

In further news, the world is just annoying.

Sunday. They have seen your plans, the ones you were making in secret. They have seized them, and burned them. Sunday.
