Weekly Wrap 747: Sometimes I just feel like parroting previous posts

On a tree stump scattered with bird seed sits a parrot. He has a bright red head, neck, and underparts, bright green wing features, dark green tail feathers, and a deep blue back. He eyes me cautiously as he munches on some seed.

One highlight of my week of Monday 16 to Sunday 22 September 2024 was visiting Sydney’s new Metro stations — which I won’t tell you about just yet. A second was coming to understand how a change of environment will do me good. And then I had another win in the crowdfunding game. Hurrah!

Weekly Wrap 746: A change is as good as a holiday, but different

Looking down some long escalators all bright and shiny and new under the artificial light, and overhead a curved white roof with long black slots for sound absorption running parallel to the escalators.

My week of Monday 9 to Sunday 15 September 2024 was spent in Sydney, and I’m the better for it. There’s increasing evidence that moving back to a city — which is my medium-term plan — will do me good. I ended up being reasonably productive, though not on things I can show you just yet.

Weekly Wrap 745: A break in podcast work, but whatalottawattle! (Not sorry.)

Close-up photo of a bush covered with globular golden flowers, with hard spiky phyllodes (pseudo-leaves).

My week of Monday 2 to Sunday 8 September 2024 was not a productive one. Indeed, I did quite a bit of sleeping — but I feel the better for it.

Weekly Wrap 744: It’s old fashioned, and I like it

A simple lowball glass containing a tan-brown liquid and ice cubes, a twist of orange, and a maraschino cherry. And in the background, through a window and out of focus, a quiet suburban street in the last, late afternoon.

OK, yes, this post is late. It covers the week of Monday 26 August to Sunday 1 September 2024, but it’s already late at night on 3 September. It may help that this Weekly Wrap includes two podcasts and a new crowdfunder, and not just the weekend’s social activities? Yes. Definitely.

Weekly Wrap 743: Wattles indicate the change of seasons, but I sleep through much of it

Bright yellow flowers which look a bit like fluffy yellow sticks branching out from a common stem. On one of them sits a bee, its pouches full.

During the week of Monday 19 to Sunday 25 August 2024 the flowering wattles makes the change of seasons. I caught up on sleep, but not on podcast production. But I think things are under control.

Weekly Wrap 742: A wallaby end to a wobbly week

A black-and-white infrared photo. Next to a tree stump, a swamp wallaby (Wallabia bicolour) stares straight into the camera.

Productivity eluded me during the week of Monday 12 to Sunday 18 August 2024. I was so, so tired, perhaps because for the four days Saturday to Tuesday I didn’t get my usual afternoon nap. Or it could be all the Usual Things that screw up my sleeps patterns. Still, here we are.
