Word-whore. I write 'em. I talk 'em. Information, politics, media, and the cybers. I drink. I use bad words. All publication is a political act. All communication is propaganda. All art is pornography. All business is personal. All hail Eris! Vive les poissons rouges sauvages!

Weekly Wrap 725: Choose a direction, but make sure it’s the correct one

A steel post with street signs. Across the back one reads RAILWAY PDE. Below that, pointing to the right, HSE NOS 20-26. Below that, at 90 degrees to those two, are two more, reading TAYLOR AVE and TO RAILWAY PDE.

My week of Monday 15 to Sunday 21 April 2024 was a relatively easy one, deliberately, before what I know will be a hectic few weeks. That said, I actually managed to get some client work done, which is magical. And apart from that, here’s some interesting links.

Weekly Wrap 724: An encounter with a familiar foe

That cockatoo at Katoomba

Midway through my week of Monday 8 to Sunday 14 April 2024 I realised I’d been fighting an infection, because I suddenly got some more energy. There’s a really nasty cold doing the rounds, although I avoided the worst of it. And on an errand in Katoomba, I ran into an old adversary.

Weekly Wrap 723: Nothing mantis as much as just getting on with life, right?

False Garden Mantis

My week of Monday 1 to Sunday 7 April 2024 saw me kick off the autumn series of my terrible podcast for grown-ups, the recording of which was spread across two days and two locations .

Weekly Wrap 722: Easter, nostalgia, and some actual work

290 South Dowling Street

And so ends summer. My week of Monday 25 to Sunday 31 March 2024 was spent in Sydney and contained the first autumn episode of my terrible podcast — to be posted soon — as well as a long weekend and a radio spot. I also visited, or rather walked past, an old home of mine.

Weekly Wrap 717: Gettin’ snakey and producing podcasts, that was my week

A diamond python (Morelia spilota spilota) photographed at Bunjaree Cottages near Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains, roughly 100km west of Sydney.

My week of Monday 19 to Sunday 25 February 2024 was full of adventure. A big chunk of Tuesday was spent watching a 2.2-metre diamond python do its thing. I produced one podcast and recorded another. And I ran into a podcast listener at the pub and had a lovely conversation.

Weekly Wrap 716: Dragon the productivity back into my life

Dragon on George Street

My week of Monday 12 to Sunday 18 February 2024 was productive but not especially profitable. I recorded two podcasts, posting one of them on Saturday, and launched next season’s crowdfunding campaign.
