My week of Monday 7 to Sunday 13 July 2025 was a podcast-productive week, with three episodes recorded and one of them posted. This was despite losing a couple of days to fighting off a cold or something. Such a good week. But the photo is from last week.
Podcasts
- The 9pm AUKUS and the Echidna with Sam Roggeveen, recorded on Wednesday and posted on Friday morning.
- On the weekend Snarky Platypus and I recorded an episode each of The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast, which will appear in the coming days — probably one this week and one next, but we’ll see.

- The Weekly Cybers #76. Australia’s social media age restrictions are in the news again, the Qantas data breach wasn’t so “sophisticated” after all, and much more.

Muskwatch
Apparently the smart people reckon starting a new political party won’t be an Elon Musk success. But hey, he now has a Nazi chatbot. Although Tesla shares have slumped, so maybe he needs to do something about that.

- From Al Jazeera, an explainer: “What is Grok and why has Elon Musk’s chatbot been accused of anti-Semitism?”
- Grok 4 seems to consult Elon Musk to answer controversial questions.
- And from Crikey ($), “Australia’s antisemitism envoy has praised how platforms like Elon Musk’s X are using AI to fight hate — days after X’s AI bot Grok was taken offline for antisemitic posts.” There’s a link to the ABC interview in which Jillian Segal said this.

The Week Ahead
Well, it’s already well into Monday afternoon, because on Sunday night I didn’t get home until nearly 4.30am. Thank you very much, tree which fell onto railway line in the middle of the night. So Monday is just about some small tasks and some planning.
My initial focus will be on client work, and on Tuesday I have a lunch engagement. Later in the week I’ll edit and post the podcast about our 2025 Bingo Cards, and on Friday there’s The Weekly Cybers as usual.
I might have a day trip to Sydney on the weekend, but those details have not been confirmed yet. In fact the whole week is currently a bit untidy.
Further Ahead
It’s time for me to schedule in a few more things, but that will have to wait until next week. Here’s what’s currently on the list.
- Another Untitled Music Podcast episode 2 recording, 26 July 2025, with the completed episode to be posted a few days later.
- TechLeaders 2025, Hunter Valley, 16–18 August 2025.
- Sam Campbell: Window Sucker, Sydney, 31 October 2025.

I used to love sitting on the far side of that lump with any back to the land and nothing before me but the Southern Ocean.]
