My week of Monday 22 to Sunday 28 December 2025 was relaxing, as befits the holiday season. That said, a podcast was recorded and various other targets were reached, most of them too small to be worthy of mention.
There were a few changes from the plan originally posted last week, especially in relation to the podcasts. I’m hoping you won’t begrudge me being a little lazy over the alleged holidays.
Podcasts
- On Sunday, Snarky Platypus and I recorded an episode of The 9pm Edict in which we reviewed our bingo card for 2025 and created a new one for 2026. This will be edited on Tuesday and posted on Wednesday, which is New Year’s Eve.
- I have not yet organised a replacement for the now-dead PodcastDb, so I still can’t upload any new episodes of Another Untitled Music Podcast. We have one episode ready to post, however, and will recorded another one so we have an orderly queue for when we do get back online.
The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast are supported by the generosity of you, their listeners. Please consider supporting them. You can to throw a few coins into the tip jar directly or subscribe for special benefits. There’s also some specific benefits for supporting AUMP.
Media Appearances
- One of my photos of a bee on a yellow flower was used by Mecosta Conservations District’s seed shop. Which is weird, because although MCD is in Michigan and the flower in question is indeed an American native Coreopsis lanceolata, my flower was in Australia’s Blue Mountains where it’s considered an invasive weed.
Articles, Photos, Videos, Corporate Largesse
None of these. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when new videos appear and when livestreams are scheduled.
Some Interesting Links
- I wrote a bit last week about Korean music collective Balming Tiger. Shortly after posting, I watched a documentary from 2022 titled Day In The Life Of Balming Tiger: An Alternative K-Pop Group. It includes footage of their performance at a concert on the DMZ, during which Omega Sapien once more manages to end up shirtless.
- A time-lapse video of corn cobs left outdoors until they disintegrate.
- What Did We Get Stuck In Our Rectums Last Year?
- And finally, a brief video which will be loathed by nervous flyers.
The Week Ahead
Monday will be a lazy day in Sydney, where I’ve been lurking since Christmas Eve.
On Tuesday I’ll edit that episode of The 9pm Edict. On Wednesday, which is New Year’s Eve, I’ll post it, along with our 2026 Bingo Card.
I suspect the rest of the week will be fairly relaxed too, at least until Sunday when I return to the Blue Mountains. Unless I decide to do something productive on Friday.
Further Ahead
I haven’t done much planning for 2026 yet, as is traditional here in Australia. But in January there will definitely be more apartment hunting and podcast recording.
- NEW: Screening for a medical trial, Sydney, 13 January 2026. Assuming I don’t get bounced for some reason, I’ll be taking part in the trial of a new trivalent vaccine for respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), human metapneumovirus (hMPV), and human parainfluenza virus type 3 (HPV-3). I’m really hoping I get the new vaccine rather than the placebo.
- The Weekly Cybers newsletter returns on 23 January 2026.
