Perhaps if I post these two rather amusing quotes it’ll help defuse my anger for certain other members of the “human race” (maybe I’ll tell you about that another time).
France screws up freedom of speech
The French intended to pass a law banning “happy slapping” — where people beat up someone, record it (usually on a camera phone) and distribute it for the “amusement” of their friends. Instead, the filming or broadcasting of acts of violence by people other than “professional journalists” is now a crime.
Fiji artesian water: “natural” but irresponsible
I thoroughly enjoyed the very fine film Pan’s Labyrinth at Bondi Open Air Cinema late night, but I was disturbed by one sponsor’s product handed to me: artesian water shipped from Fiji.

The Internet continues its valuable role as an avoider of copyright “problems”: someone has conveniently put many of the information graphics from An Inconvenient Truth on Flickr for easy reference. I still wonder why they’re not on the official film website in the first place.
