Yes, it’s that time of the week, time to call for nominations for “Cnut of the Week” for tomorrow’s edition of Stilgherrian Live (9.30pm Thursdays Sydney time).
It’s the same rules as usual. We’re after people (or abstract forces of nature) who’ve been futilely trying to hold back the tide of digital change.

This weekend I’m at the Oz-IA/2008 Information Architecture conference in Sydney.
We’re recording the sessions for distribution later. But, as far as possible, we’ll have a live video stream. Do feel free to pop by and have a chat. If it all dies in the arse I’ll be whingeing about it on my Twitter stream.
Stilgherrian Live will start taking on a new form. I’ve just recorded a quick experimental episode live from our back garden using my MacBook Pro and a Telstra NextG card.
It worked!
The bloke at Telstra reckons I should be able to get a 3Mb/second uplink — more than enough for good video quality — which means we can have Stilgherrian Live from Pretty Much Anywhere.
This weekend I’ll be doing some live feeds from the Oz-IA/2008 Information Architecture conference, and next Thursday’s program will be live from Webjam 8 at Bar Broadway.

In a disorganised episode which started late thanks to Art — I’ll write more about that later — former Treasurer Peter Costello was voted “Cnut of the Week”, narrowly beating controversial Thai prime minister Samak Sundaravej (สมัคร สุนทรเวช) and journalist Mark Day for his backward-looking story Blogs can’t match probing reports.
There was also an impromptu interview with Crikey cartoonist First Dog on the Moon wherein we discuss, inter alia, deputy opposition leader Julie Bishop and rabbits.
