Spotted in Sydney the other day: an advertising poster bearing the slogan “new innovation”. As opposed to the other kind, I assume.

Word-whore. I write 'em. I talk 'em. Information, politics, media, and the cybers. I drink. I use bad words. All publication is a political act. All communication is propaganda. All art is pornography. All business is personal. All hail Eris! Vive les poissons rouges sauvages!

If you think that’s bad look at this article, the title is an absolute joke: “Is creativity the new innovation?” Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve always grouped ‘innovation’ and ‘creativity’ quite closely.
@Alex Willemyns: Agreed. Both are about creating something which didn’t exist before. The question “Is creativity the new innovation?” is, I suspect, some management consultant re-branding at work.
If businesses like IBM throw around “innovation” as one of their key qualities, and others have followed, then “innovation” starts to sound stale. Consultants need to sound as if they’re right on the cutting edge of knowledge to justify their fees. So, pick another, similar word like “creativity” and start using that. Increase fees by 50%!
