@jeamland Yeah the Cam Twist documentation says no USB but then some forum posts imply it’d work. @mpesce’s toy would be ideal for me if so.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeamland

@jeamland Oh, Cam Twist uses the internal iSight, and I did get it working with a shitty old Logitech webcam once, but camcorder USB?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeamland

@jeamland The free switching software Cam Twist only talks Firewire. I think Final Cut wants Firewire for taking over cam shuttle controls.

@smperris Or [shudder] go with MiniDV tapes, which at least has the advantage that I can archive the raw footage cheaply.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@smperris [nods] I was wanting to spend (up to) $2k, but I may have to go higher to get what I want.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@jeamland I know Firewire is “trickier”, but it’s FASTER! Anyway I need a camera with Firewire for my show and HDD or Flash memory not tape.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeamland

Bloody hell choosing a video camera is complicated! And why is Firewire so rare? Answer me this!

@SnarkyPlatypus Well, if your brain has suppressed them too much, here they are again! ;) http://is.gd/2ZQV

@mpesce My eyes are always wide open. It’s the Way of the Sheep.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@josh909 And apparently you live just down the street from @ApostrophePong and me! Small city!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to josh909

RT @josh909: Little known fact: I actually got drunk with the Venga Boys in Thailand. Great guys/girl but (obviously) total shithouse music.

@mpesce “Remember to avoid 3 - 5Hz flicker rates. That’s teh seizure zone.” Right, you want me to BEHAVE with that info? ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@ragnarok1971 I have to be back in Adelaide in November for a mate’s wedding, so we have to hack it before then.;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ragnarok1971

@mpesce Ah, Quicktime Pro can do the job! I just have to over-ride the presets that choose “sensible” sizes. Now, to hack the Lantern… ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

Yesterday I pondered 48 x 16 pixel movies for the Rundle Lantern. http://is.gd/2Wq7 On OS X, what would be a good tool to scale them down?

And that’s the 2.5 hours of (mostly) unexpected website work out of the way. [sigh]

@SnarkyPlatypus “When I use a word, it means just what I choose it to mean, neither more nor less.”

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@SnarkyPlatypus @ApostrophePong “I am enjoyed” is like “I am embiggened”. Sort of. Stop asking so many questions.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@ApostrophePong Somehow since the weekend our network at home has become unstable. Now on NextG to get some urgent work done.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ApostrophePong

@ApostrophePong Yes, Google indexes Twitter FAST, but they drop out of the searches fast too. I think that’s clever.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ApostrophePong

@Nickhodge Not trusting the CDs in the box is always a good idea, agreed. Anyway, this works nicely now. I am enjoyed. (That sounds wrong.)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to NickHodgeMSFT

Oh good, there ARE Windows SBS 2003 drivers for the LaserJet 2015dn, just not on the CD that comes in the box.

via Twitter Web Client

Home. Wondering why an HP LaserJet P2015dn printer isn’t supported for Windows SBS 2003. Is this going to be today’s annoyance?

So, which of these arsehat followers http://is.gd/2Z2n is responsible for @WeLoveTelstra? Maybe none of them? Bets, anyone? [snickers]

via Twitter Web Client

@JonoH “Most of the shit it picks up Is negative in sentiment.” Not surprising, people will complain, but not praise. It’s human nature.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to JonoH

@JonoH I don’t think @WeLoveTelstra is “official” or it’d have linkage and disclaimers all over it. I’m guessing satire, but who can tell?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to JonoH

@jdub You’re part of OLPC Australia yeah? @ApostrophePong should talk to you re his art project on OLPC at COFA.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jdub

@aeoth Yes, consistency is a good thing, eh? The entirety of Telstra is on big Arsehat, except for @JonoH who is a God amongst Men.

via Twitter Web Client

@ChrisSaad Flash developers are hard to find because most Flash people come “design”, not code, and can’t move beyond pretty pictures.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ChrisSaad

@WeLoveTelstra What’s this stupid robotic behaviour? Retweeting anything mentioning Telstra without crediting the original source? Arsehats.

@LacqueredStudio I’m thinking I won’t actually have time to prep “Live from Webjam” for this Thursday. Maybe the toilet broadcast is easier.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to LacqueredStudio

@LacqueredStudio I must admit, I find the US election campaign overwhelming. No brainspace for it.

Pondering the best way to route VPN traffic through my network to the client’s new network which sits (temporarily) in my office.

@limburger2001 I’m an early morning person usually, but this is a bit earlier than usual, yes. :)

@Mediamum I have a intense project thru to mid next week but after that life gets more sensible. It’ll happen after that I imagine.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Mediamum

@Mediamum Once I get this week out of the way, some lunchtime eps of “Stilgherrian Live” are a real possibility. Want them mobile, flexible.

@smperris I have a pair of Sennheiser 815s’s that I used in some corporate podcasts ages ago. Need a small mixer tho.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@smperris Heh! I can skip the “movie maker class”, but $1225 leaves room for decent mics. All I have to do now is make it through this week!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@smperris Actually I haven’t played with @mpesce’s Canon HF-10. I note it here for $1225. http://is.gd/300i

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@deanlk Whatever tech you’re planning to buy, there will always be rumours of a newer, better model “just around the corner”. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to deanlk

@deanlk Cam Twist is all about processor speed. But cameras not in use don’t cause load. It’s the overlays, audio mixing etc. Try it!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to deanlk

Ah! This Cam Twist forum post has the answer. http://is.gd/2ZYv Yay! “If your cam works with Quicktime, then it should work with CamTwist.”

via Twitter Web Client

@4fthawaiian @jeamland Well, I will just have to try a USB camcorder and see how it goes. @mpesce’s choice was the best for me if it works.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to 4fthawaiian

Is everyone sick of me talking about Cam Twist now? ;)

via Twitter Web Client

@4fthawaiian Actually I got Cam Twist to work with them too, a Logitech 4000. But, I want it to work with whatever camcorder I buy, y’see.
