@DDsD And why, exactly, would I want some TLC from on of Stiletto’s “fine ladies”? :P

Trying to get a new IPSec VPN working with a Netgear FVS328 my end and a Linksys WRV200 t’other. I may stab myself with a stiletto instead.

@babycakesjase Something before Christmas is easy. :) Count me in. We’ll talk later about the hows and whens.

@babycakesjase I’d be happy to brief AFAO on Internet “filters” if the timing works. When would you be looking at? DM?

“Google’s Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide” makes EXCELLENT sense. Must-read, and free. http://is.gd/7lO1 [PDF]

@barrysaunders “Fireside chats in the 21st century” is a fine piece re politicians online. http://is.gd/83dd Thanks for the heavy linkage!

@DDsD I’ll re-pimp the free poker @ the Lansdowne Hotel every Monday 7:30pm, but I’m not a poker player myself.

@stub Pub Trivia is tonight at the Marlborough Hotel, King St, Newtown. 6.30pm table-gather for 8pm game-on. I may or may not be there.

Watching my job ticketing system battle another ticketing system for control of the email subject line. No-one will win.

@wolfcat One could also have the wife as a Cnut, for not noticing the tide of change being her own marriage ebbing out the door. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to wolfcat

@wolfcat Yes, gotta admit that’s a good story. I assume the husband is the “Cnut of the Week” nominee here? http://is.gd/83q2

@DDsD I thinking “turning it off” is what the client did without saying so first, so it triggered alarms, and they’re not calling back yet.

Breakfast at Scrambled Cafe, Enmore Rd, after having dealt with a minor server outage (is there such a thing?).

It’s astounding how fast the Marlborough turns into a shithole after Trivia. This is such a shit pub.

@ApostrophePong and I will be at @stub Pub Trivia, Marlborough Hotel, Newtown, around 6.30pm.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ApostrophePong

@oliverw JVC nominated for “Cnut of the Week”, yes. Also Virgin Mobile for CHARGING for calls to their own customer service number!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to oliverw

@oliverw Oh exactly! JVC don’t want people actually taking up the cashback offer, just to think they’re getting a good deal. Cunts. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to oliverw

Dear JVC, requiring $200 cashbacks to be lodged within 30 days AND require original box barcode is lame. Your promo idea is now sadness.

@stub Pub Trivia, to repeat, is tonight at Marlborough Hotel, Newtown. 6.30pm table-grab for 8pm game-on.

@josh909 Yes, Wi-Fi gets screwed by reflections from the planes, but moreso some powerful aviation comms/navaids when the runway is active.

For the first time ever a website (not newspaper / agency) will have most reporters covering the Whie House. http://is.gd/84ZB

@paulwallbank Conversely, I have 3 clients with Linksys WVR200 routers and anything encrypted to them seems to die too frequently.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to paulwallbank

@aDB Your mo makes you look more and more like a serial killer every day!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to aDB

@paulwallbank I’ve found most Netgear ProSafe routers to be OK, provided you keep the firmware up to date. Reboot daily to clear RAM.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to paulwallbank

@ApostrophePong The Wi-Fi dodginess isn’t a Netgear problem: it’s a shitty D-Link WAP that needs replacing. The planes overhead don’t help.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ApostrophePong

@paulwallbank And in any event it’s working just fine now. I am [ugh!] logged into the Windows 2003 Server and reconfiguring backups.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to paulwallbank

@paulwallbank Actually it’s the Linksys end that’s annoying me. The Netgear is mine at my office end and has been fine. YMMV, of course.
