Sat plan: Potter at home, reading and so on, until it’s gym time; gym; delayed champagne. Precise timing unavailable.

@adavid Ah. If there is a pony re-invasion of the internets I’ve missed it. Then again, I’ve been busy. Or maybe ponies have special skills.

via TweetDeck

@adavid I have no idea what you’re talking about.

@HyperBrendan I would be a suitable subject for an Edict, yes. I’ve recently pondered how I could liberate time to resume that podcast.

I see Teh Medias are publishing rumours of a future event as news again. Handy for planning your schedules, journos, but what about NEWS?

@ben_hr I have only a smattering of Thai. Enough to get myself in trouble on a long night out.

Thanks for the suggestion of the robot ride on the lawn mower hookers. That may be my next film. But not tonight. HT @nanopunk, obviously.

Pondering evening plans. I need a Strategy.

@Rubenerd I’ve chosen to be consistent with “daytuh” for my podcasts. Maybe it’s an Adelaide thing too.

@peterjblack You’re watching TV at 5 o’clock in the afternoon?

via TweetDeck in reply to peterjblack

@drunkenmadman Well yes, here in Australia the pronunciation of “router” must be “rowtuh” since a “rooter” is somewhat different.

@scroobious_pip Thank you, but what can I say? The people who taught me linguistics were mostly descriptivists.

via TweetDeck in reply to scroobious_pip

If there are two camps both deciding it’s a “should” matter, then they are both being prescriptivist and I cannot support either of you.

via TweetDeck

The Macquarie notes that for “data”, the pronunciations “daytuh” and “dahtuh” are both used in Australian English. There is no “should”.

Did somebody just say “cocktails”?

Moderately pleased that the day’s targets have been achieved. And now, some time to potter at my desk.

Mobile: Enmore Rd for breakfast and, unless something astounding happens, back home to my desk again.

via TweetDeck

Fri plan, late: Breakfast on Enmore Rd; a desk day of client webby work, with many loose ends to tie up; evening TBA, but probably quiet.

It is now 1000. Thanks to a lovely bout of late-week insomnia I’m only just starting the day properly. Plans will be announced shortly.
