@semibogan @crikey_news Thanks. That one final paragraph should be tattooed on everyone who dons a “V for Vendetta mask”. With a harpoon.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to semibogan

@semibogan Ah, yeah, it’d be good to help folks move beyond “I used Tor so I’m safe” arsehattery.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to jonoabroad

@jonoabroad @PeteLawler So, on one phone, I deleted messages. When I ran a backup, it should, IMO, only back up the live messages.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to jonoabroad

@jonoabroad It’s rather pleasant tonight. A spot of rain just then, but nothing major. There may be more tomorrow.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to jonoabroad

Hah! I transferred SMS messages to the new Android phone using an SMS backup tool. Deleted SMS messages have reappeared. Not impressed.

via Janetter for Mac

@jonoabroad Well staying with Android is certainly easier than changing platforms. Though the Lumia was a real option if I had to buy.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to jonoabroad

@jonoabroad I was going to replace my phone when the contract ran out, but hey, given that the Huawei Ascent Mate7 is here, I’ll try it out.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to jonoabroad

@jonoabroad That’s sitting on my desk too, but that’s a review unit. The Huawei’s a review unit too, “But you don’t have to give them back.”

via Janetter for Mac in reply to jonoabroad

@bubbiting Ah yes, as @samprimrose just pointed out, this is an Android feature now. The Mate7 is an Android phone.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to bubbiting

@raaahbin Heh. Can’t be any worse than some of the photos already on my phone.

I’m setting up my Huawei Ascend Mate7 at the moment. Fewer annoying questions that any other setup I’ve done recently.

via Janetter for Mac

Hmmm… The Huawei Ascent Mate7 comes with a microUSB-to-microUSB cable. Is that a data transfer cable? I think it is. Let’s see.

via Janetter for Mac

@kev_martin Oh I’ve got everything critical off it. But nah there’s all manner of single points of failure.

via Janetter for Mac

@bigbadave @kaydo Yeah see part of the point of this exercise is to NOT have all my data going into the cloud. Interesting service though.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to bigbadave

@SnarkyPlatypus Well Huawei’s phones are getting good reviews. It’s an Android. This is also a 6-inch phablet, really, so that’ll be new.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

via Janetter for Mac in reply to bigbadave

via Janetter for Mac in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

via Janetter for Mac in reply to stufromoz
