My week of Monday 3 to Sunday 9 November 2025 saw me invent a new podcast sub-project, and then manage not to post the two full podcasts I’d planned. For various reasons. Oh well. The rest of it was reasonably productive, so I’m happy with that.
Podcasts
- On Wednesday we recorded the thrice-rescheduled episode of The 9pm Edict with Dr Alice Gorman and Rami Mandow about what’s happening in space. I didn’t manage to finish editing it this week, however, so it will appear on Monday or Tuesday. Space will still be there.
- Snarky Platypus and I recorded an episode of Another Untitled Music Podcast last Saturday, but when I started editing it this week I decided that it wasn’t up to scratch. So we’re going to re-record it this coming Sunday. Sorry for the delay.
- NEW: Sunday Single: Balming Tiger: Narani Narani (feat. ATARASHII GAKKO!). This is a new sub-podcast of Another Untitled Music Podcast, where we present a single piece of music for your enjoyment. They’re intended to be quick and easy to produce and, as the name implies, something that’ll appear on Sundays — and from next week on that’ll be first thing Sunday mornings.
The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast are supported by the generosity of you, their listeners. Please consider supporting them. You can to throw a few coins into the tip jar directly or subscribe for special benefits. There’s also some specific benefits for supporting AUMP.
Articles
- The Weekly Cybers #92. Reddit to be age restricted but not Roblox, Microsoft apologises and offers refunds, FoI changes to be killed in the Senate, the usual smorgasbord of AI news, and more.
You can read my previous writing at Authory, where you can also subscribe to an email compilation of any new stories each Sunday morning.

None of these. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when new videos appear and when livestreams are scheduled — although it’s been ages since I did one.

The Week Ahead
I have a very busy time ahead, and with two projects coming to an end an urgent need to generate some revenue, so this will be a stressful time. Wish me luck. Maybe I should mention stilgherrian.com/tip. Wink emoji.
[Update 12 November 2025: As has been happening quite a bit lately, I’ve crammed far too much into the schedule given my need to sleep more than a normal human. So you’ll note some adjustments below. As of this update everything has been recorded, but it takes a bunch of hours to edit each episode — at least to my standards.]
On Monday or Tuesday Thursday I’ll finally edit and post that podcast episode with Dr Alice Gorman and Rami Mandow. I also have a little client work and administrivia to sort out, so these will be busy days.
On Wednesday evening I’m recording a podcast with freelance motoring journalist Peter Anderson, editor of The Redline. I’m not really into cars as such, and I don’t even drive, so this will be an auto-industry-for-dummies overview I guess? I’m fascinated with the auto industry as a global thing, not individual car models, and especially the rise of electric vehicles.
If you’re a supporter with a TRIGGER WORD or CONVERSATION TOPIC for this episode, please let me know by 8pm AEDT this Tuesday 11 November. I will edit that episode on Thursday, although it may not be finalised and posted until Friday on Monday next week
On Friday I’ll produce The Weekly Cybers newsletter as usual.
Saturday will be yet another day down in Sydney, assisting with the apartment hunting.
On Sunday, Snarky Platypus and I will re-record that episode of Another Untitled Music Podcast which we’d trashed. It should be posted a day or two later on Wednesday next week
Further Ahead
- The 9pm Edict recording with infectious diseases physician and medtech nerd Dr Trent Yarwood, who’s been on the pod before, 18 November 2025. If you’re a supporter with a TRIGGER WORD or CONVERSATION TOPIC for this episode, please let me know by 10am AEDT that day.
- The 9pm Edict recording with digital rights enthusiast Justin Warren, who’s been on the pod before, 27 November 2025. If you’re a supporter with a TRIGGER WORD or CONVERSATION TOPIC for this episode, please let me know by 10am AEDT that day.
- ATARASHII GAKKO!, Hordern Pavilion, Sydney, 4 December 2025. This Japanese group is well worth exploring. I’m not sure who I’m taking to this gig yet. Make me an offer. And to be clear, while I still haven’t decided on a co-conspirator for the night, I’ve have bought tickets.
- Takashi Wakasugi Work In Progress, Factory Theatre, Sydney, 5 December 2025. He’s also doing a show on 6 December.
