My week of Monday 24 to Sunday 30 November 2025 was remarkably productive, with four podcasts recorded — three of them posted already — and the launch of the new season’s crowdfunding campaign which has already reached its first target. Wow.
Please support The 9pm Summer Series 2025
Summer approaches! Which means it’s time for another seasonal crowdfunding campaign.
Please pledge your support to The 9pm Summer Series 2025.
It provides my income while I produce special-guest episodes of The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast, and it supports my life generally.
Earlier today we hit Target One, thank you, so that means four special-guest episodes of The 9pm Edict across summer, and a yet-to-be-decided number of episodes of Another Untitled Music Podcast across summer. But there’s more to go, so do consider helping us get to Target Two and beyond.
This season’s campaign is shorter than usual so please act quickly. You have until 9pm AEDT on Wednesday 10 December, and that’s just 10 days away.
Podcasts
I’m continuing to churn out the podcasts to clear the backlog. I suspect you’ll be fine with that.
- The 9pm All-Electric Douchebag with Peter Anderson, recorded back on 12 November and posted this Tuesday. I learn things about cars! Well, about the auto industry.
- On Thursday morning I recorded an episode with digital rights enthusiast Justin Warren, who’s been on the pod before. I’ll post that one early next week.
- The 9pm Miracle Medical Reality with Dr Trent Yarwood, recorded on 18 November and posted this Friday. Among other things, we discuss various new antibiotics.
- Sunday Single: WVCHWY: tjalunkut, recorded on Thursday and posted on Sunday. This is a fantastic track from an emerging Kalkadungu and Bidjara Nations DJ and producer.
The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast are supported by the generosity of you, their listeners. Please consider supporting them. You can to throw a few coins into the tip jar directly or subscribe for special benefits. There’s also some specific benefits for supporting AUMP.
Articles
- The Weekly Cybers #95. With just 12 days to go there’s yet more news about Australia’s social media age restrictions, a new AI Safety Institute, and so many other stories it hurts.
You can read my previous writing at Authory, where you can also subscribe to an email compilation of any new stories each Sunday morning.
Videos
- My wildlife camera caught a swamp wallaby (Wallabia bicolor) the other night. Here’s the raw video.
Photos , Media Appearances, Corporate Largesse
None of these. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when new videos appear and when livestreams are scheduled — although it’s been ages since I did one.

The Week Ahead
On Monday I’ll edit and post a new episode of Another Untitled Music Podcast, and on Tuesday I’ll edit the new episode of The 9pm Edict with Justin Warren., which I’ll post on Wednesday because that’s exactly a week before the social media age restrictions come into force.
On Thursday morning I have a client production meeting. In the afternoon I’m heading down to Sydney because in the evening I’m seeing ATARASHII GAKKO! play the UNSW Roundhouse — and I still haven’t organised anyone to go with. I’d better get onto that. Would you like to come with me?
I’ll be staying in Sydney because on Friday night I’m seeing Takashi Wakasugi’s Work In Progress show at the Factory Theatre. That’s after producing The Weekly Cybers newsletter as usual, of course.
I’ll stay in Sydney for a second night because Saturday will be yet another day of assisting with the apartment hunting before returning to the Mountains. We may also record some podcast bits, because Snarky Platypus wants to say a few things.
And on Sunday I’ll collapse.
Further Ahead
I’m started organising the next season’s podcasts and such, at least those around the holiday period.
- NEW: The 9pm Q&A Live, a video livestream during which I’ll talk about some of my plans and answer your questions, and I’ll probably also show you some bird and critter videos. Tuesday 9 December, 9pm AEDT. I haven’t done a livestream for ages so this should be fun.
- NEW: I’ve pencilled in recordings of Another Untitled Music Podcast on 14 and 28 December, with them being posted a couple days later. I’m hoping to make them fortnightly over summer. The weekly Sunday Single episodes will also continue.
- NEW: The 9pm Edict recording with Snarky Platypus, 29 December 2025, in which we’ll review our bingo card for 2025. This episode will be posted on New Year’s Eve, and our 2026 bingo card will be posted the following day.
