Weekly Wrap 795: A week of contrasts as the dreaded lurgi strikes me down

My week of Monday 18 to Sunday 24 August 2025 began with the final day of a delightful event but was then ruined as some random infection savaged my throat and other tubes. I do not recommend it.. Nevertheless there’s still a few Interesting Things here.

The Week Ahead

The week will start slowly, because my throat remains raw. The magic word is phlegm.

I’m meeting a potential new client on Tuesday, though, at least via video, and at some point I’ll edit and post the podcast I recorded with Ariel Bogle and Cam Wilson, authors of Conspiracy Nation.

I’ll also map out the next season’s crowdfunding campaign — but you’re more than welcome to contribute early, and I’ll count your contribution toward the campaign’s total target with all the now-usual benefits.

The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast are supported by the generosity of their listeners. You might like to throw a few coins into the tip jar or subscribe for special benefits. There’s also some specific benefits for supporting AUMP. Please consider.

I’ll post The Weekly Cybers as usual on Friday, but I’ve cancelled going to the drinks event that evening because I really do need to catch up on things.

Further Ahead

Hmmm. I’ve only added one thing here, which does slightly concern me.

  • NEW: Sydney Days, 12–16 September 2025 (TBC). Yes, it’s planned a catsitting episode, but also the perfect time for Sydney people to arrange to catch up.
  • Sam Campbell: Window Sucker, Sydney, 31 October 2025.
