Monday 15 to Sunday 21 September 2025 was a big week for podcasts, with one posted and two more recorded. After several weeks of poor health I’m getting back into the flow. My photos have mostly been of birds, however, so for a change of pace I’m going with a cityscape from a few weeks back.
FINAL DAYS: Please support The 9pm Spring Series 2025 crowdfunder
This season’s crowdfunding campaign, The 9pm Spring Series 2025, is ending very soon.
Your contributions will support my podcasts The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast by providing me with an income to live on — especially important given my recent illnesses.
Depending on the level of your support, you can also buy TRIGGER WORDS or a CONVERSATION TOPIC to insert your brain into the Edict, Recommend a Song to Us or submit a We Will We Will Judge You playlist into AUMP, score yourself a custom audio or video message, or more.
At the time of posting we’re almost 94% of the way to Target One with four days to go, so I’m hoping we can push through to Target Two or beyond.
You have until 9pm AEST this Thursday 25 September to pledge your support.
Podcasts
- The 9pm Conspiracy Nation with Ariel Bogle and Cam Wilson, recorded way back on 14 August and finally posted this Tuesday.
- “AUMP 00003: The Cover is Better,” being an episode of Another Untitled Music Podcast recorded last Sunday and posted — well, it hasn’t appeared yet. I uploaded it on Saturday night but there’s a glitch on the hosting platform which has not yet been resolved. I’ll update this post when it finally appears.
- On Friday night I recorded an episode of The 9pm Edict with David F Porteous, who’s been on the pod many times before. That one will take a bit longer to edit, but I’m planning to get it online by Tuesday night.
The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast are supported by the generosity of their listeners. Please consider supporting this season’s crowdfunder.
If you miss the deadline of 25 September, or if you prefer not to use Pozible, you might still like to throw a few coins into the tip jar directly or subscribe for special benefits. There’s also some specific benefits for supporting AUMP.
Articles
- The Weekly Cybers #85. Vibe-based guidelines for Australia’s social media age restrictions, Kmart slapped over facial recognition, a $92,000 tweet, and more.
You can read my previous writing at Authory, where you can also subscribe to an email compilation of any new stories each Sunday morning.
Media Appearances
- One of my photos of the Sydney Opera House seal was used to illustrated an article about it, Seehund sonnt sich vor dem Opernhaus in Sydney. The article was posted in 2015, when the photo was taken, but Google Search thinks it’s new.
Photos, Videos , Corporate Largesse
None of these, although you’ll see below there’s plenty of podcasts coming up. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when new videos appear and when livestreams are scheduled.

The Week Ahead
It’s a mixed bag this week, tidying up some podcast post-production in the first half and concentrating on some client work a bit later. I also need to start locking in new work, as my two current client projects will be coming to an end soon.
[Update 25 September 2025: Sleep is eluding me, so I’m having to pull the pace back on the podcast post-production. Another Untitled Music Podcast is ready but there’s problems at the hosting provider. And The 9pm Edict with David F Porteous is awaiting my edit, so that’s probably not going to appear until Saturday.]
On Thursday night I’m wrapping up The 9pm Spring Series 2025 crowdfunder at 9pm AEST. If you haven’t yet done so, please check it out. And then on Friday it’s The Weekly Cybers newsletter as usual.
Further Ahead
- Housesitting in Sydney, 4–20 October 2025 or part thereof. This comes at a particularly convenient time, as I’ll need to be in Sydney all three of these weekends.
- CORRECTION: Another Untitled Music Podcast recording, 5 October 2025. This is also the Labour Day long weekend, so perhaps we can knock off two episodes.
- The 9pm Edict recording with Dr Alice Gorman and Rami Mandow, 15 October 2025. If you have a space-related TRIGGER WORD or CONVERSATION TOPIC for this episode, please get it to me by 11am AEDT that day.
- NEW: Aussie Bird Count, 20–26 October 2025. It’s always good to be part of science.
- Sam Campbell: Window Sucker, Sydney, 31 October 2025.
