Word-whore. I write 'em. I talk 'em. Information, politics, media, and the cybers. I drink. I use bad words. All publication is a political act. All communication is propaganda. All art is pornography. All business is personal. All hail Eris! Vive les poissons rouges sauvages!

Weekly Wrap 602: Slime mould, summer, and cybers

King Parrot

As expected, the Great Sog of La Niña continued through the week of Monday 6 to Sunday 12 December 2021, at least until the weekend. It was a productive week with actual social activities — but I’m already behind schedule so let’s get straight into the business.

Weekly Wrap 601: A soggy start to official summer, with links to bushfires and Parliament

Sydney Opera House in the Smoke

The Great Sog of La Niña continued through the week of Monday 29 November to Sunday 5 December 2021. This was a huge contrast with exactly two years ago, when Sydney was shrouded in bushfire smoke.

Weekly Wrap 600: Jerkbirds, podcast work, and the Great Sog continues

My week of Monday 15 to 21 November 2021 was full of conferences and fatigue, so while I got a podcast out I didn’t get anything written. I did start thinking about the Beforetimes, though, and stumbled across some photographs from the past.

Weekly Wrap 598: Orange, but with more introspection

Most of my week of Monday 8 to 14 November 2021 was spent in Orange in NSW’s Central Tablelands. Primarily it was about recording a podcast with Fr Karl Sinclair, and you’ll hear that next week. But getting out of the house proved to be remarkably beneficial to be psychologically.

Weekly Wrap 597: Twitter, the law, and maybe even the end of the Quarantimes

Waratah

Monday 1 to 7 November 2021 saw me do an actual social thing. With another person. OK, it was lunch at the pub with Mark Humphries before we recorded this week’s podcast, but it was still a wonderful sign that the Quarantimes are slowly coming to an end. I hope.
