So you know how the other day I told you about the return of The 9pm Edict podcast and how the next episode would be posted on Sunday 4 May? Well it isn’t going to happen quite like that.
I did go to Sydney’s Sutherland Shire as planned yesterday. And I did record stuff. But for reasons explained in this mini-podcast, I didn’t get the material I needed to fulfil the plan. Sorry.

I’m heading back to Cronulla tomorrow. Stay tuned. I’m hoping to post the new episode on Tuesday 6 May or thereabouts.
Meanwhile you can listen to all of the episodes, now and in the future, if you subscribe to the podcast feed, or subscribe automatically in iTunes, or go to SoundCloud.
If you’d like to comment on this (non-)episode — or suggest people, places or things that I should check out — please add your comment below, or Skype to stilgherrian or phone Sydney +61 2 8011 3733.
You can also check out the progress videos I made on the YouTube playlist.

Listen Tiger.
I thought it was expecting a bit much for you to record interviews one day and you’d have what you want and edited by the next, but heck, I figured as an internet media producer of some renown you know what you’re doing and you’d pull off the magic. Shit I’d never trust the Gods to be that favourable to me, but this isn’t about me, is is?
SO…!
Don’t sweat it big fella. So long as the numbers add up at the end of…, say the quarter, it’s all cool. No one dies, we all have our shits and giggles in good time and you make a few bob to justify the effort.
Keep chipping away and eventually we’ll all see the results. Looking forward to seeing what you do.
Not everything goes to plan & a delay to make it good rather than crap is understandable & desired. Just don’t make it too Sydney centric yeah? Us southerners (/Northerners/Westerners/East… no wait) also like stuff relevant to non-bridge cities…
@Ian Kath and @Chris Hill Thank you for that. I’m not stressing about it too much, but I’m certainly annoyed at myself for losing the microSD card and for not keeping a better handle on the timing on the day.
Back when I worked in daily talk radio, both would have been utterly unacceptable failures. I spent too much time on amusing and enjoyable things, not enough on the harder-to-do stuff. Had I kept an eye on that, there was plenty of time on Sunday in which to have done the editing.
(Actually, had I been in a must-publish environment, I’d have just changed plans and made an episode out of the material I had, with a different emphasis.)
There’s actually third reason for the plan not going to plan, but that will be explained in the podcast itself. Stay tuned…
