@Froosh NP. :) Just remember that your target audience is not necessarily the same as your peers. Or maybe it is. YMMV. If in doubt, KISS.

@Froosh More broadly, what is the out-of-box experience when someone gets your card? When they then use it to look you up later? It’s sales.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Froosh

@Froosh I’ve never been a fan of titles. But IMO unless a title makes perfect sense to recipient and/or sells you in the way you want, omit.

@Froosh What to list on business card? Well, how do you want ppl to contact you? What do you want them to see when they look you up? KISS.

@jayrosen_nyu If people re-examine ideology of journalism, they’ll have to face fact that it rarely lives up to its ideals. That’s personal.

@chieftech I wonder if it’s pure envy? The “next generation”, thanks to their intellectual power tools, will be able to do so much more.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to chieftech

@jayrosen_nyu Yes, instant access to all the world’s information makes us LESS intelligent, apparently. [sigh] The arguments get repetitive.

@jeffsonstein Clarke & Dawe do that piece at the end of The 7.30 Report every Thurs night, but mostly Australian political references.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jayrosen_nyu @jeffjarvis It’s thoroughly amusing, but like Jeff I can’t resist either, when someone posts at my blog. http://is.gd/Zxk LOL!

If folks aren’t sick of reading the journalism vs teh evil bloggers “debate”, Jeff Jarvis has another instalment. http://is.gd/130z

@jeffsonstein Yeah video formats are annoying, but the timing of Clarke’s performances is superb. A national treasure if originally from NZ.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein You may well appreciate the latest piece by John Clarke & Brian Dawe. Lovely rendition of George W Bush. http://is.gd/P2u

@garthk Perhaps not. Artists’ studios will have… ARTISTS in them. You never know where they’ve been.

@firstdogonmoon I think I’d only choose the echidna in certain circumstances. They’re grumpy little buggers sometimes.

Emerges (sort of). It looks sunny outside. Can I be bothered heading there at some point?

Sorry, but countering a haka by the All Blacks with John Williamson singing “Waltzing Matilda”? We’re fucked.

Kelly’s is preparing for an expected influx for Sat night / Bledisloe Cup. May have to go AFK soonish. @ApostrophePong arrives. INXS plays.

@andrewdotnich Oh my Thai’s pretty dodgy, sure, but I think they could at least cope with “Hello”. Saswasdee krub!

“Surviving the Net Crunch: A Practical Guide for Print Publications in a Digital World” http://is.gd/14sc

@andrewdotnich I caught out Stir Crazy similarly. They advertise as “Thai”, so when I phoned I ordered in Thai. Didn’t understand a word.

@ApostrophePong You mean “No excuse NOT to get my shit together and move on!”? ;) See you soon…

So @downingstreet has a Flickr stream. http://is.gd/12iu Where’s Rudd’s? It’s not as if it’s particularly difficult.

Hmmm… I was just asked, “Are you staying for the match tonight?” In how many ways can I be out of touch?

@wolfcat The Denton piece especially, as Cundall was a guard over SS troops awaiting trial for WWII atrocities at the holocaust camps.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to wolfcat

@wolfcat Peter Cundall is astounding. http://is.gd/14Aq British Paras in WWII, Communist Party Senate candidate… fascinating man!

@deconstructo “7. Have you ever noticed how sun-dried tomatoes and top-grade peyote look exactly the same? Not a suggestion… Just saying.”

via Twitter Web Client in reply to deconstructo

@deconstructo Yes, I am still at Kelly’s. I follow cabin fever with a late-arvo “Irish” pub to bring out the worst aspects of my psyche.

For some reason, “Fourteen Passive Aggressive Appetisers” appeals to me tonight. http://is.gd/Xpx

Migrating to Kelly’s On King, Newtown, since I’m getting cabin fever after 2-3 days mostly inside. Bloody colds!

@fulltimecasual I’ve got a pile of cards on my desk. What I’d want to know is “What can this person do for me, to make my life easier?”

via Twitter Web Client in reply to peterwells

@fulltimecasual If someone handed me a card with “Self facilitating media node”, my immediate reaction would be “wanker”, to tell the truth.
