@lucasrichter ACMA usually takes 6 weeks to respond to reports of potentially bad sites. I suspect this will be somewhat quicker. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to lucasrichter

@ashermoses And the ACMA blacklist appears to have been posted on Wikileaks now, just as your story predicted. Goodness.

“New media laws to shield journalists over sources” http://bit.ly/16k5lC But, are they REAL protection?

Oh, that 100Mbit/sec DSL I tweeted about earlier? It won’t work in Australia. Typical. http://bit.ly/17Gjz http://bit.ly/17Gjz

Oh dear. I break for brunch and it’s Gloria Jeans commentary from ars… um, everywhere. I would like to move on now, please, Twitterverse.

via Twitter Web Client

@goaldeebug Indeed, t’was RTing @kcarruthers… Do people think she and I are really the same person? I am both at MEL airport and home?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to goaldeebug

If anyone can find anywhere thatI said I ever bought anything from franchised holes like Gloria Jeans OR Starbucks, I’ll buy them a drink.

via Twitter Web Client

@davesag No, I DON’T buy Gloria Jeans’ coffee. Never step foot in the places. That’s the point. Why are people thinking this, I wonder?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to davesag

RT @jg_rat: Off to UQ to talk (& listen) to media students. They ask better questions than journalism students: is that a problem?

via Twitter Web Client

@rebel Hey, the ABC offers Real and Windows Media now, also Flash from the program page, and MP4 and WMV in the vodcast. Enough choice?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to rebel

OK, so I have a bazillion emails, tweets and new Twitter followers to sort through. This could take some time.

For those who missed “Stilgherrian Live” episode 40, try http://is.gd/o12G and for my appearance on ABC Lateline (serious) http://is.gd/o0i4

via Twitter Web Client

OK, so I don’t get to see my Lateline appearance until it’s on the podcast/website tomorrow. No TV reception; I forgot the stream address.

via Twitter Web Client

@neerav Dunno exaclt Lateline time, just watch the program. :) Anyway, I’m about to start “Stilgherrian Live” stop asking questions.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to neerav

Nominations for “Cnut of the Week” have closed. “Stilgherrian Live” starts in 40 minutes, come what may. http://stilgherrian.com/…

via Twitter Web Client

BTW, I hope people will watch @Nickhodge’s program from 8.30pm Sydney time. Check his tweets for links.

via Twitter Web Client

@smperris There may be nothing BUT ranting. We’re just leaving The Clare Hotel now to head back to home base. Who’s idea was this?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to smperris

@alanjlee Yes, all episodes of Lateline, like so many programs, are on the website and and/or available through ABC iView.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to alanjlee

So, 90 minutes to broadcast time and I’m at the pub. “Stilgherrian Live” will be awesome tonight. ;)

@ApostrophePong “Maybe he is just a metrosexual.” No, we have just stumbled into a meeting of the UTS Queer Collective. As you do.

@davesag The trick, I think, with Twitter is that if the river has flowed on, it’s flowed on. I don’t dig into the past. Not even an hour.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to davesag

@dkhall44 I’ve no idea who’s doing the show tonight… I was interviewed by a journalist for a “film” story.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to dkhall44

Oh, nominations for “Cnut of the Week” are still open at http://bit.ly/35Btk5 and you must nominate at the site to be valid. Are you valid?

via Twitter Web Client

@einspruch I think I lost my copy of that VH1 promo. I’ll have to get another from http://sixty40.com, the producers. It was years ago.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to einspruch

@mtats Lateline itself is live, but the edited video stories are, um, shot and edited first. Senator Nick Minchin is on too.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mtats

@ApostrophePong I think you’re right, my last time on mainstream TV was that VH1 station ID with me lusting after Annie Lennox. Don’t ask.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ApostrophePong

@sboiling 1. No, the interview was not adversarial. 2. No, I did not swear.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to sboiling

Oh, yes, for those who asked: the Lateline piece is indeed about the leak of the Internet censorship blacklist today. ABC1 10.30pm.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to kcarruthers

Yes, it appears that I’ll be on Lateline on ABC1. The program starts at 10.20pm Sydney time, then around the country.

Interview recorded. Having a quiet ale at The Clare Hotel with @ApostrophePong.

@jeffunity I didn’t do anything for Triple J, did I? Someone else?

via Twitter Web Client

En route to ABC Ultimo to record an interview for a SECRIT TV PROGRAM (Lateline).

@bjdavies “Refer to Federal Police” is bluster. Conroy can be seen to be “taking tough action” which may end with AFP saying “no crime”.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bjdavies

@trib @renailemay It’s still an offence to link to prohibited content (apparently), tho this is linking to a link to the content. Unclear.

RT @ashermoses: “Web blacklist outcry: dentist, tuckshop on official ‘hate list’” http://bit.ly/XP6QU

via Twitter Web Client

@ApostrophePong For some reason, news that you’ll be working at Class Movies and the ACMA blacklist being released on the same day is wrong.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ApostrophePong

@SnarkyPlatypus Whatever these boys were doing, it wasn’t “clandestine listening to Bananarama B-sides”. Or is that a euphemism?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@crikey_news “The dulcet tones of editor @GreenJ and @BernardKeane”? I never knew “dulcet” meant something to do with coal mines.

@warren_s I’m not about to click links, but “a dentist’s website” could still have MA15+ content on it, related or unrelated.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to warren_s

As always, the quickest explanation of the ACMA blacklist is at Libertus.net: http://bit.ly/cIGI

via Twitter Web Client

@duncanriley The blacklist is also only compiled from complaints filed. ACMA said all complains are from the public, so random.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to duncanriley

@duncanriley Yep, remember ACMA can blacklist anything rated MA15+ up which doesn’t have an age-verification mechanism.

Can anyone help @starsnostars work the Ustream iPhone app so they can watch “Stilgherrian Live” later? I’mn ot an iPhone kind of guy.

via Twitter Web Client

@blague What happens if you click on the links? Depends what they lead to. But possession of some prohibited material is a crime.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to will_ock

@mpesce You know, @ashermoses was Young Journalist of the Year 2008 for his work on the Howard govt editing Wikipedia. http://bit.ly/FYXBr

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@ashermoses @jeffsonstein @bengrubb I can see the blacklist on Wikieaks. I’m sure looking in the right place will soon reveal it.

via Twitter Web Client

@BiteTheDust No, ABC showed Wikipedia page on Wikileaks rather than the actual site ‘cos the fucking thing was down when we filmed.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to BiteTheDust

@rebel True, I saw someone say that watching an ABC program fired up Real Player for the first time ever on their new computer.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to rebel

@rebel I think people forget that when the ABC started doing this, Real was a sensible choice. Changing workflows is expensive. ;)
