@SnarkyPlatypus Bonjour. Le passé est un autre pays, ils y font les choses différemment. Je suis confuse. Et vous?

@cpanczak Ah, Radio National! Is there anything they don’t know? Yes, I’m going to Africa. Very soon. http://tr.im/opLV

@franksting Yes, you’re missing the metaphor. Then again, I was missing the metaphor and making little sense. Deliberately. It was Saturday.

Emerges. Aches. Stretches. Still aches. Bugger. But I do still have my fingertips. That seems to have been a dream.

@vampSaam @NathanaelB @rbuerckner All you people who think the cats have the power in this relationship are wrong wrong wrong wrong wrong.

Mon plan, D-10: Plan next 10 days; notify everyone whose stuff won’t fit; try for an hour in the sun, the last we’ll see this week.

@WoollyMittens @cameronreilly I do really like John Safran’s work. http://tr.im/otY7 Being compared to him is a bonus.

via Twitter Web Client

Dear Cats, why can’t you be this quiet at, say, 0500, and not only when you’ve just been fed?

Emerges. This is wrong. 0848 is far too late. But I was awake 0200 to 0630, thank you cats and other interruptions. This does not bode well.

OK, @kcarruthers is running my going-away-and-maybe-not-coming-back-party next Sat 20 from 3pm. http://tr.im/oqSO

@smartbrain Thank you, Sir! Your work that day really did move me, especially as I knew the locations in BKK. http://tr.im/oqA5

@HappySinger This is a re-repaired Facebook group link: http://tr.im/oqMJ Does it work now?

However, Sumalee Thai downstairs does give the supposedly more fashionable gay tax accountants a chance to show off their trophy Thai boys.

The Bank Hotel really has become Surry Hills’ colony in Newtown. Is it illegal to suggest that someone should burn it down?

Dear Barmaid, when you say “$9 thanks” and I extend a note, you don’t turn to chat with a friend. You take my money and give me my change.

via Twitter Web Client

Oh. I seem to have a Facebook group for Project TOTO. Special. Thanks, @kcarruthers! http://tr.im/oqB9

Of course, that’s not the first time a teargas attack has been tweeted, eh @smartbrain? http://tr.im/oqA5

Mobile. SEKRIT late lunch with undisclosed monotremes.

via Twitter Web Client

@kcarruthers @mpesce I shall consult this afternoon with the man who runs the venue we spoke of, and confirm.

via Twitter Web Client

@anthonybaxter Yes, I’m getting all the soundbites ready for the documentary about my disappearance.

@middleclassgirl ANU kidnappers? I thought kidnappings were run out of the Uni of Melbourne?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to AnnabelAstbury

Travel journalist Marc Veraart has some lovely pics of Tanzania. http://tr.im/oqhQ

via Twitter Web Client

@kcarruthers @mpesce The Saturday thing, though… night? Or afternoon when we can have the venue to ourselves?

via Twitter Web Client

@mpesce Well, if I absorb the energy from everyone at a Saturday party, then channel it during the stillness of the Solstice, that works.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@facibus Does that also mean that the mere presence of quince paste declares it a SEKRIT meeting? [SEC=QUINCE]

via Twitter Web Client in reply to facibus

RT @facibus: There shall henceforth be quince paste at every sekrit meeting - I have deemed it so.

@GreenJ Crikey is a “pro-Labor newsletter”? Wish you’d told me, I wouldn’t keep attacking Senator Conroy! “The Australian” farcical.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to GreenJ

@kcarruthers @mpesce Sat 20 June for going-away party makes sense. Winter Solstice is Sun 21 at 1545 AEST, tho maybe that’s personal.

Aha! Differences between PPCA and APRA explained by PPCA. http://tr.im/oqba Hat-tip @jason_a_w

via Twitter Web Client

@AndrewBartlett When I managed Three D Radio in Adelaide in 1994-95, we paid APRA alone, from memory, not PPCA. Is my knowledge out of date?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to AndrewBartlett

@kcarruthers It seems @mpesce would like Sat 20 June for my go-and-get-killed party. http://tr.im/oq3V Any other suggestions?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to kcarruthers

Anyway that’s all from me about PPCA & APRA. Death throes of a dying industry. Let’s instead be positive about the future.

via Twitter Web Client

@ADevenish Ah, PPCA represents record companies. APRA represents artists to radio, TV, other uses of music. Boundaries blurry?

via Twitter Web Client

@michaelq Indeed, that’s precisely what Muzak Corporation used to do, using “spare” FM sidebands on existing stations.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to michaelq

@michaelq I think “playing radio in the shop” is covered by APRA rather than PPCA. But yes, someone could do their own music feed to cafés.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to michaelq

@SnarkyPlatypus Maybe a PPCA-represented artist should complain to them that they’re making the artists look like greedy pricks.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@BrendanB Yes, PPCA’s approach is PRECISELY a protection racket. AFAIK the artists don’t actually get the money.

via Twitter Web Client

@WarWraith Can you express your last tweet as a quote I can use in my new bio? Thanks! ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to WarWraith

@SnarkyPlatypus Noël approche à grands pas. Vous connaissez mes goûts.

PPCA proposes increasing license costs for a 50-seat café playing background music from $50pa to $10k. http://tr.im/opOb

@SnarkyPlatypus Existe-t-il une version de cette chanson, mais avec le plus d’amphétamines? Beaucoup plus?

@kcarruthers @acatinatree No, not ! The C Bar has “Martinis and Manicures” every Thursday evening!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to kcarruthers

@cpanczak And the charity rep you heard was @archielaw, the CEO of ActionAid Australia (formerly Austcare).
