@thetowncrier Why do you hate Freedom? Or is it just email and the telephone? ;)

@yewenyi Well, this new pipe is 1.52Tb/s initially, how does that compare with your Big Number?

via TweetDeck in reply to yewenyi

@bengrubb No, not retail. That whole price comparison was about a certain-sized Big Fat Pipe, as a pipe.

via TweetDeck in reply to bengrubb

@bengrubb @joshgnosis The Middle East comparisons were about price not bandwidth. ME is 3x Australia, says my notes.

via TweetDeck

Erm, the new Pacnet fibre will double international data capacity initially, @bengrubb @joshgnosis Do I need to teach you chaps arithmetic?

@expectproblems Actually I find the gentle rain rather pleasant. But I need to find a comfy cubbyhole for a bit of work before heading home.

@expectproblems This may actually come as a shock, but I probably shouldn’t embark upon an adventure today. My gesture is hollow.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to expectproblems

@expectproblems I am not “familiar” with it, though I know of it. But were you not joining me there? Or was that all a hollow gesture?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to expectproblems

So, I’m in the Sydney CBD… What was that about Red Oak, @expectproblems?

via Twitter Web Client

@jeamland Yes, 1.52Tb/s initially, but they may add extra fibre pairs if they get more customers, and obviously it can be upgraded later.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeamland

Watch for the stories emerging this afternoon. Another 5.12Tb, online by 2013, more after that.

Pacnet has just announced a new JV with Pacific Fibre to lay new fibre AU-NZ-US which will double Australia’s overseas data capacity.

@MikeySlezak Yes, Jura is probably the place to look. Ah well, it’ll have to wait until next week.

I think I might track down the author of that poster and interview them for “The 9pm Edict” podcast some time.

RT @DanielOCnr: Looks like a lost dog poster until you start reading ;) [Actually, I think it IS a lost dog poster. Har har.]

via TweetDeck

I also like the fact that there are no contact details on that poster. Want to join the struggle? Tough. http://post.ly/p5Em

via TweetDeck

@yewenyi I’m just writing a piece on that new cable now, have you got a quick list of the capacity of the other six cables?

via TweetDeck in reply to yewenyi

It’s OK @gabewong I’m already scoffing codeine, which is dulling the pain and the brain. with luck I’ll still be able to write.

via TweetDeck

Thu plan: Writing writing writing writing writing writing writing writing writing writing writing and, back pain permitting, writing.

Noticing that I kept typing the wrong numbers in tweets earlier. Like, you’re stupid enough to rely on me for your news anyway.

@oberonsghost What’s wrong with Gerard Henderson naked?

I can see that my Men of Media / Page Three Men charity calendar idea is dying in the arse. So to speak. I am disappointed. @GreenJ @penbo

via TweetDeck

RT @penbo: Now a Men of the Sydney Institute calendar - that would sell [I bags being art director.]

via TweetDeck

RT @GreenJ: @stilgherrian you appall me. [I actually thought that was in my job description…]

via TweetDeck

@grum You should treat that donkey with more respect.

via TweetDeck in reply to grum

@GreenJ Hey I’m serious! A Men of the Media calendar would be a seller! Yeah, @penbo? You seem… skeptical…

via TweetDeck

Actually @penbo @GreenJ a Page Three Men for charity calendar is actually a good idea! Will you both support it?
