I find the sight of Bob Ellis accusing the electorate of collective Alzheimer’s to be particularly ironic.

Ah, The Drum strikes another blow for balance via a panel of three grey-haired middle-aged urban whitefellas.

via TweetDeck

Pleased that due to rearranging my world I can stop writing, I ponder the remainder of the evening.

via TweetDeck

Very much appreciative of @penbo telling the old age pensioners of Australia to get stuffed http://bit.ly/cEPL3f

via TweetDeck

On hold for ABC Radio Statewide NSW.

Video of lightning strike recorded at 9000 frames per second, slowcoach http://youtu.be/-bvmEYxE…

via TweetDeck

t’s worth noting that https://www.belowtheline… is currently 2007 data, as the 2010 preferences deals aren’t done yet.

via TweetDeck

I agree that Open Australia is a good suggestion @theburgerman for finding out what your existing MP does http://bit.ly/PlP4C

via TweetDeck

By “community election-related” @SuperOpinion I mean anything helpful for understanding the election, not run by a party or media outlet.

via TweetDeck

I see Vote Below the Line is looking a bit more attractive too http://bit.ly/dp9TQ9

via TweetDeck

Any other community election-related websites I should plug in a forthcoming thingo what I am doing?

via TweetDeck

Have you all been uploading the election leaflets you receive to ElectionLeaflets.org.au? http://bit.ly/9FBhZ0

via TweetDeck

@piawaugh I’ve just sent the maybe-not-quite-up-to-date figures to your work address. Happy to chat and explain.

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

@erkpod Also, the bulk of that money goes to the money-collectors, then to the music labels, not to the original artists themselves.

via TweetDeck in reply to erkpod

@erkpod Yep, not cheap. For podcast is POA. Webcast is approx $700 per quarter minimum for non-commecial orgs, $500pa for individuals.

via TweetDeck in reply to erkpod

@piawaugh Yes, the broadcast license is only for the broadcast. Webcasting or podcasting requires an additional webcast license.

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

@piawaugh As for radio, music licensing in broadcast radio is paid by the licensee, not individual programs.

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

@piawaugh I have a copy of the APRA/AMCOSS license fees for commercial music in webcasts/podcasts I can forward if you like?

via TweetDeck in reply to piawaugh

@shigawire Oh I think you doubt Mr Schwab’s knowledge! I’m sure he temporarily forgot Shannon-Hartley in the rush to write his analysis.

via TweetDeck in reply to shigawire

@franksting No, the live ABC Local Radio programs aren’t transcribed or turned into podcasts. But it’ll be nothing new for you.

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

I’m on ABC Radio Statewide NSW at 5.50pm (95 mins) talking DNSSEC and IPv6, would you believe. No stream.

via TweetDeck

@drueyjay Yep, we reduced usage from 34kWh per day to 29kWh at the same time last year, but nevertheless are paying $50 more.

via TweetDeck in reply to drueyjay

Yes, Energy Australia Quarterly Invoice, our electricity costs have indeed risen around 10%. And same to you.

via TweetDeck

It says here on this sign that The Green Room Lounge on Enmore Rd opens mid-August.

via Twitter Web Client

@izevaka Typo corrected, thank you. Though an online heath service does sound fun. It’d probably be full of gnomes.

via TweetDeck in reply to izevaka

Thank you, @mtats, that reminds me to re-pimp my “Adam Schwab’s NBN ‘analysis’ arsehattery” http://bit.ly/9ShWnq

via TweetDeck

@ApostrophePong No, I’m not going to Pho Sure, they’re not open for lunch. Silly people.

via TweetDeck in reply to ApostrophePong

Standing up and moving forward: Enmore Rd; pho for lunch; further errands only if necessary; back to my cave for more writing.

via TweetDeck

Now now @jeamland @renailemay @R_Chirgwin @shaneyoung72 … No jokes about wireless broadband. It IS the answer to everything. [smirks]

via TweetDeck

Me in Crikey: “A new cable brings the promise of more internet capacity” http://bit.ly/b6nlvP Can has 5.12Tb/s?

via TweetDeck

Crikey story filed! Whew! And do I feel crap? yes, I do. Continual pain and/or codeine are exhausting. Who knew?

via TweetDeck

The codeine is working.

via TweetDeck

Well, there’s my bit of the podcast “A Series of Tubes” recorded. It’s all up to @R_Chirgwin now. May God have mercy ‘pon his soul.

via TweetDeck

NBN Co coverage maps are linked off this ABC story http://bit.ly/cvaMNz @robbieg8s Not on NBN Co website yet, as of 5 mins ago anyway.

via TweetDeck

RT @deptofinternets: It’s not a PITA, it’s Web 2.0! [True, my mistake… There IS a difference. There is. There really is.]

via TweetDeck

Gosh @abcnews the NBN coverage maps in Scribd, not just as downloadable PDFs? What a PITA!

via TweetDeck

No, not you, @kcarruthers, I’m having a go at The Man With the Catchy-Titled Book. There’s always TMWTCTTB.

via TweetDeck

So to translate, @kcarruthers, “Social media huge, important, say people whose income depends on social media being huge, important”?

via TweetDeck

Fri plan: 0900 record for A Series of Tubes; desk things; lunch & errands; 1500 ABC Radio recording; 1600 client phone conference; TGIF TBA.

via TweetDeck

Less ranty is FAS’ Steven Aftergood on Wikileaks’ lack of due diligence and transparency http://bit.ly/dt2MxC

via TweetDeck

@SnarkyPlatypus Aussi, je suis passablement, après avoir dormi 22 heures jusqu’à 2 heures du matin, et puis 5 heures 30 jusqu’à 7 heures 30.

via TweetDeck in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

“WikiLeaks is a brothel of self-promotion, Assange its puffed-up pimp”, says @tunkuv. Goodness! http://bit.ly/d0T88N HT @jayrosen_nyu

via TweetDeck

@SnarkyPlatypus Je savais, je savais que vous alliez à choisir cette chanson. http://youtu.be/F1FPK5-R…

via TweetDeck in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@SnarkyPlatypus Bonjour. J’ai remarqué que, parfois, les gens choisissent les héros les plus inapproprié. Et vous?

via TweetDeck in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@snarkle Anyway, my comment was about Assange, not Wikileaks, and it wasn’t about hate.

via TweetDeck in reply to snarkle

@snarkle Equating “information wants to be free” with Wikileaks is a complete misrepresentation of the phrase’s origins. http://bit.ly/3LEZw

via TweetDeck in reply to snarkle

CEBPAKI: Cat exists between person and keyboard, inconveniently,

via TweetDeck

Ah. Emerges. Uhuh.

via TweetDeck

Oh is Julian Assange going to be on TV again? I think I might go to bed before I stab someone. [exit]

via TweetDeck

Since several people have asked about Julie Bishop… http://bit.ly/d7LJ2b

via TweetDeck

Apparently I am Julie Bishop, or so I have just been told.

via TweetDeck

Apollo you are a bastard cat.

via TweetDeck

@CastleJames @queerpenguinSX I suspect that neither the Khmer Rouge nor @LaurieOakes pay any attention to me, the arseholes.

via TweetDeck in reply to CastleJames

“I’d have preferred to be hanging out on the beach than dealing with homosexual Nazis” http://bit.ly/bSMCrO HT @joshgnosis

via TweetDeck

@joshgnosis And were there enough laughs? Whale feces aside…

via TweetDeck in reply to joshgnosis

@CastleJames Well, I appreciate your Baroque theory. We shall see. @LaurieOakes, any thoughts? ;)

via TweetDeck in reply to CastleJames

@CastleJames Doubtless Belinda Neal is a vengeful soul, but surely a certain KR is a simpler explanation for the leaks?

via TweetDeck in reply to CastleJames

@joshgnosis Where are you and why are your tweets an hour behind the program you’re tweeting about?

via TweetDeck in reply to joshgnosis

@wunchn I understand your point, but personally I think left-right analysis limits understanding, is best abandoned. You won’t sway me here.

via TweetDeck in reply to wunchn

@CastleJames I don’t think you can finger Belinda Neal [eww!] for the ALP leaks. She wouldn’t have access to the cabinet debates.

via TweetDeck in reply to CastleJames

@wunchn I think it’s easier just to look at each party as an entity in itself, and to forget the idea that one party is left, one right.

via TweetDeck in reply to wunchn

@wunchn Parties? They each have a cluster of messages to appeal to the swinging voters, some left, some right on the old scale.

via TweetDeck in reply to wunchn

@wunchn Tell me which “them” you’re referring to and I’ll tell you how I describe them.

via TweetDeck in reply to wunchn

@FixedR6 Nah, I’ll stick with my comment on that, actually. I’ll expand upon that into an essay at some point.

via TweetDeck

@wunchn My irony detector is not calibrated tonight, but I kinda laugh at anyone who still uses that 18th-century left-right analysis.

via TweetDeck in reply to wunchn

I am turning off the TV feed because I am in danger of finding out things that I already know.

via TweetDeck

Hang on I saw this report on shock horror teenagers are hormonal violent don’t think of consequences who knew a week ago.

via TweetDeck

@Colvinius True, plagues of frogs aren’t quite my realm. My patter tends to stay within a millennium or two of the present date.

via TweetDeck in reply to Colvinius

Oh here we go…

via TweetDeck

“I don’t have first-hand experience of whale feces, no.” Now THAT’S television!

via TweetDeck

Dear , if you want someone to play “bitter old cunt” other than Bob Ellis, I can do that and stay on topic.

via TweetDeck

@renailemay People registering for info on a consumer product isn’t interest in “tech”, it’s interest in consumerism. Very different.

via TweetDeck in reply to renailemay

WTF? My phone just auto-corrected “Grrrr” to “Greer”. Poor Germaine…

via TweetDeck

Seriously, @renailemay, tech is like sewerage. We all USE it, but only the obsessed and the mentally ill want to TALK about it.

via TweetDeck

RT @renailemay: Why does have a health section but no tech report?? [To spite you, personally, because They Know.]

via TweetDeck

Tom Switzer may object to my characterisation of him as middle-aged but, like, fuck him. He referred to Edmund Burke before 10pm.

via TweetDeck

Ah, so THAT’S what Glenn Milne looks like sober!
