“Nobody said the cowbell industry was humane.” http://arseh.at/xd

I just don’t understand how some of these people can show their faces in public, what with such sloppy research and writing. I’d be ashamed.

Someone should explain to Fairfax journalists the difference between “one”, “some” and “all”. Preferably with a baseball bat.

Tue plan: Write for Crikey, quickly; 1200 Blurb lunch debate, History House; CBD errands and stuff; 1630 NICTA@NSW Parliament; quiet night.

The Dylan Moran quote is from this one-hour of his stand-up currently on ABC iView. http://arseh.at/wt

@Yin_Izanami “Telemetry” makes me think of Paddee’s track “Satellite” from this album. http://arseh.at/ws

Dylan Moran: “You’re supposed to eat cows. They’re big lumbering stupid things. They’d be everywhere if we didn’t eat them.”

via TweetDeck

@Yin_Izanami Indeed. Doesn’t “telemetry” sound so… scientific!

@shalailah Well, to quote: “–verb (t) 2. to use a taser gun on.” But don’t you have editors for this sort of thing?

via TweetDeck in reply to shalailah

@shalailah If it’s any help, Macquarie Dictionary reckons “taser” is used generically, with a lower case “t”, but notes it’s a trademark.

via TweetDeck in reply to shalailah

@shalailah I can’t help it if everyone at AAP is stupid. And the less said about @insightSBS the better…

via TweetDeck in reply to shalailah

@shalailah Unless, of course, it’d make more sense in context to use the generic term “stun gun”?

via TweetDeck in reply to shalailah

@shalailah Given that “Taser” is a company name and a brand name and a trademark, surely it’s capitalised as the owner would wish?

Did someone slip Mark Day a few eccies over the weekend? Here’s his pro-NBN article. http://arseh.at/wp

@SnarkyPlatypus Also, given @AntonyGreenABC and I live two streets away from each other, our “run-ins” are hardly suprising.

via TweetDeck in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

Mr Green and I have discussed bowel cancer, fixed-wheel bicycles, the history of the ALP, the NBN, and moral turpitude. All in a day’s…

via TweetDeck

@SnarkyPlatypus What could possibly be suspicious about anything involving @AntonyGreenABC?

via TweetDeck in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

Uhoh. @AntonyGreenABC. This’ll be interesting.

I’m turning Japanese / I think I’m turning Japanese / I really think so.

RT @dobes: Hard to argue with this logic: http://arseh.at/wg [I tend to agree.]

I know it’s childish, but I’m always amused when I see the trucks labelled “Dial a Dump”.

Is it just me, or is the Arsehat Quotient quite high today?

The most damning thing about this Spanky Banky story is Barrie Cassidy confusing “illicit” and “elicit”. http://arseh.at/wd

@bigjsl @hopeinhell Gawd, yes, another of those skills the 21st Century doesn’t need: knowing how to operate a bromide camera.

via TweetDeck in reply to bigjsl

Mobile: Enmore Rd; lunch either there or maybe King St, depending on my mood once I’m out of the house, and whether I’m kidnapped.

via TweetDeck

My first job, @hopeinhell? Working as a printer’s hand at the university, I think. It’s where I learned the craft of making documents.

Curiosity can be very expensive, you know.

Guy Rundle in New Jersey? Accomplices “including a rabbi who specialised in the trade in illegal organ parts”? http://arseh.at/wc

Please explain to me, @jdub, why they had a dead nun in a Chilean gold and copper mine. Feel free to use diagrams.

via TweetDeck

@niltiac Yes, TV has sound too. But the sound of the event should have priority, not the sound of a commentator prattling over the top it.

via TweetDeck

And while I didn’t watch it, I agree that TV presenters should generally STFU and let the images speak for themselves.

Mark Bahnisch dissects what was apparently awful media coverage of this Saint Mary McKillop thing. http://arseh.at/wa

Craving cheese. Smoked cheese, in fact. What does this mean?

via TweetDeck

Don’t bother trying that “A Series of Tubes” podcast just yet. There’s a server problem. Stand by. Or sit. Or recline, if you prefer.

via TweetDeck

@R_Chirgwin I’m getting “connection refused” errors for the MP3 file, from two different locations.
