@R_Chirgwin 2h 45m of generator run brings battery voltage up from 46.0V to 50.0V. I’m thinking this will last the night. Agreed?

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

@R_Chirgwin Another disaster averted, making sure the electricity didn’t run out overnight. ;) Two hours of generator? Or 3? It was at 46V.

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

I missed the super, @elisedavidson, but it was just one of their reporters by the look of the background.

via TweetDeck

You know, @7PMProject, next time you want to explain the NBN rollout you might want to cross to someone who’s actually across the plan.

via TweetDeck

Careful, @7PMProject, you’re not going to misrepresent NBN retail pricing by comparing potatoes with pomegranates are you? I’m watching you.

via TweetDeck

New blog post: “Talking Tasmanian goverment hack on ABC 936 Hobart”, with audio from yesterday. http://arseh.at/987

via TweetDeck

@TatteredRemnant That’s just standard corporate disclaimer crap. That is, we’ll confirm the price in real contracts.

via TweetDeck in reply to TatteredRemnant

Right. “Patch Monday” podcast will be about laws. Privacy, R18+ games, others. Every vote was for that topic. Thanks, everyone.

via TweetDeck

NBN Co’s wholesale prices have been known for some time, @TatteredRemnant @kristinmoore2. Here’s the calculator. http://arseh.at/981

via TweetDeck

@ScottRhodie And just think, you have been even more impressive if you’d have kilted up!

via TweetDeck in reply to ScottRhodie

RT @JuliusFlywheel: You can promise privacy till the cows come home basic data protection practices in process and design still lacking. [Y]

via TweetDeck

RT @hopeinhell: I have an insect bite of some kind on my breast… [No, that’s called a “nipple”.]

via TweetDeck

That’s four votes for covering the laws, thanks @nphair. A law enforcement background would never bias you, would it? ;)

via TweetDeck

@kristinmoore2 I’ve being doing other stuff this arvo. I heard @TonyAbbottHMH had made an outrageous NBN claim, but not the details. Thanks.

via TweetDeck in reply to kristinmoore2

That’s 3 votes for “Patch Monday” being about “B: Laws (privacy, R18+ games, cybercrime)”. Any dissenting views?

via TweetDeck

I also just got an email saying @ScottRhodie is a great guy. This is a weird day all round.

via TweetDeck

LOL! Us media types are now getting battling NBN press releases from @TurnbullMalcolm and Senator Conroy’s offices.

via TweetDeck

Which “Patch Monday” topic, folks? A: @TurnbullMalcolm broadband plan; b: Laws (privacy, R18+ games, cybercrime); C: LulzSec and hacktivism.

via TweetDeck

New blog post: “R18+ computer games, finally, but little on cybercrime” http://arseh.at/97z

via TweetDeck

@net_hues My pleasure. The arseh.at URL shortener is the work of @thepatus, and from the site there’s links to the software that does it.

via TweetDeck in reply to net_hues

@tomjsenior The timing of R18+ games will depend on both state and federal parliaments passing laws. Speed will depend on polling.

via TweetDeck in reply to tomjsenior

I know, @rodthegeek @ewaterford, I thought it was a good chart, but Leroy obviously felt otherwise. Needless to say, I’m disappointed.

via TweetDeck

@Serrels Ta for the confirmation. My assumption [yes, I know] was it’d roll into the ALRC review. Still, nothing this Christmas, I guess?

via TweetDeck in reply to Serrels

Oh, the client’s cheque has bounced, has it? That’s glorious news for a Friday afternoon. And most unexpected, given this client’s history.

via TweetDeck

Actually, Attorney-General’s next media release implies they DON’T need to wait for ALRC to do R18+ games legislation.

via TweetDeck

@joshrowe Alas, I’m certain that Leroy is in Crikey’s office in Melbourne, while I’m in the Blue Mountains. I am merely a freelancer. [sulk]

via TweetDeck in reply to joshrowe

Giggling like a schoolgirl.

via TweetDeck

And on the website too. Who is Leroy, @crikey_news? We need to have a few words… [smirks]

via TweetDeck

Oh. In the middle of my Crikey story in the email: “LEROY [If you want to use the chart, this is where it goes.]” That was… never mind.

via TweetDeck

RT @melissapierce: If we aren’t using our brains to store random memory data (outsourced to Google) what are we using them for? [Glee.]

via TweetDeck

Me at Crikey: “In IT’s dance of the inflating elephants, Microsoft is stumbling” http://arseh.at/97q [Paywall’d, free trial]

via TweetDeck

RT @pressdarling: Maybe I should tweet some ill-informed opinions on current events to increase my popularity and exposure. [Go for it!]

via TweetDeck

Of course any such R18+ classification would happen AFTER the ALRC finishes the Classification Review. No Christmas pressies this year.

via TweetDeck

“Ministers made a decision in principle to introduce an R 18+ category for computer games. NSW abstained,” says the SCAG communiqué.

via TweetDeck

@ShepherdOfRap I haven’t had a chance to grab the NATO docs myself yet, but @AnonymousIRC’s stream should have linkage.

via TweetDeck in reply to ShepherdOfTime

I did not spill coffee all over my notes, nor did I set fire to the living room.

via TweetDeck

Fri plan, replanned: Planning for next week’s MEL trip; clear the comms backlog; TGIF. Writing can be done on the weekend, say my editors.

via TweetDeck

I am profoundly shocked that a News Ltd columnist would write a flattering piece about her proprietor, @R_Chirgwin. Shocked, I tell you!

via TweetDeck

I have no idea what @R_Chirgwin is referring to there, but it’s a great line. And a disturbing visual image.

via TweetDeck

R_Chirgwin Hard to decide whether Miranda Divine has managed to put her fingers down the throat of journalism, or her tongue down its trousers.

But don’t wet yourself. Docs Anonymous released so far merely NATO RESTRICTED. http://arseh.at/97n

via TweetDeck

RT: Me at CSO: LulzSec taunts FBI, claims Guardian tech editor leaking info. Anonymous has NATO data? http://arseh.at/97f

via TweetDeck

I understand it’s pissing down in Sydney again today. In the Blue Mountains, we’ve hardly seen any of the rain. I watch it from afar.

via TweetDeck

Crikey story filed. Not, to reassess the day’s plan. Stand by.

via TweetDeck

Me at CSO: LulzSec taunts FBI, claims Guardian tech editor leaking info. Anonymous has NATO data? http://arseh.at/97f

expectproblems It seems every time AGs appear in the news it’s because they did something embarrassingly stupid. Do they ever do anything non-stupid?

via Twitter for Mac (retweeted on 9:52 AM, Jul 22nd, 2011 via TweetDeck)

CSO story filed! I didn’t expect to be doing that today but, you know, I saw some news and I decided to make a few paragraphs. Crikey next.

via TweetDeck

At, the questions from Wall St analysts are always so funny. There’s never any big-picture to it, just row 143 cell 75 of their spreadsheet.

via TweetDeck

About to listen to the Microsoft quarter earnings call. http://arseh.at/97a Very excitement.

via TweetDeck

I was having a shower because in the first dream I did a fill-in shift at ABC @891adelaide but the studio was replaced by a dusty quarry.

via TweetDeck

I had two rather odd dreams. The second involved a Crikey story about how Qantas CEO Alan Joyce had stolen my towel.

via TweetDeck

Fri plan: Write for Crikey; write for ABC The Drum; write for CSO; clear the comms & planning backlog; TGIF, somehow, somewhere.
