RT @barrysaunders: ‘penetrate all parts of the rabbit at the same time’ [Hey! I think I was at that party!]

via Janetter for Mac

Right, I’m fairly sure we’ve locked the doors and there’s no back doors in the account. Some mess to clean up but DEPLOY EMWERGENCY DUCK!

via Janetter for Mac

WordPress upgrade OK. Theme was hacked to display the defacement. Now we’re patched, I reckon we can just restore the theme from backup.

via Janetter for Mac

Recovered WordPress admin password. Logged into WordPress. We’re running version 3.2.1, for our sins. Upgrading to 3.4.1, just for the heck.

via Janetter for Mac

So the password for WordPress’ MySQL database is the developer’s 4-character name followed by two digits. ASh, professionalism!

via Janetter for Mac

@iain_chalmers Nah I’m familiar with this. I’m told there’s a known-good backup available and no site changes.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to iain_chalmers

@iain_chalmers User reports “ages” since WordPress upgraders, files are all timestamped 1 October 2011. Heh.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to iain_chalmers

Lolwut I can’t use SFTP, only FTP? Jesus wept.

via Janetter for Mac

Lovely. It’s a cPanel/WHM hosting environment, with which I’m intimately familiar.

via Janetter for Mac

OK, I said I’d look at this. We have a WordPress site not updated, hackers changed the admin password but we’re into the hosting account OK.

via Janetter for Mac

Chatting with someone whose website currently reads “Hacked by [REDACTED] [REDACTED] [REDACTED]” That’s not what they wanted, I suspect.

Notebook last seen at ABC Ultimo last night. Locations and transport thereafter have been contacted. I shall now be patient and confident.

I shall start responding to external stimuli again once I’ve figured out where my notebook is.
