I don’t think I mentioned before, but the main cause of the flight delays was MEL air traffic control being evacuated around 1800 AEDT.

via Plume for Android

@VirginAustralia No problem. It seemed like most passengers on VA883 understood.

via Plume for Android in reply to VirginAustralia

@jturner_ibrs The flight was smooth and fast, once we actually got in the air. @VirginAustralia did well under annoying circumstances.

Neither Melbourne Airport’s nor Virgin Australia’s websites are showing up-to-date flight information. Useful∗.

via Plume for Android

@AbstractCode Well, if that sensible transport policy is “having an aircraft”, then yes.

via Plume for Android in reply to AbstractCode

I think I have defeated surveillance by tweeting the wrong flight number. They’ll never figure it out now.

Ken Boal said the idea of Cisco having a shop with that functionality would be impossible 2 years ago. That’s why they’re so excited?

via TweetDeck

Tech keynote: Cisco has a structure for their products, which you can look up for yourself, and they’ve got a shop.

When I hear about apps being “consumed” I start to weep for the future of human communication.

via TweetDeck

Apparently admins can edit what’s visible in the shop, so that’s good.

via TweetDeck

We’re spending a huge amount of time being told that there’s a shop we can buy things from. Frustrated by glacial pace.

via TweetDeck

This section of the keynote just feels like a walk through Cisco’s catalog of clouds. I get frustrated by this sort of thing.

@PointZeroOne Meh. I don’t know where this “3 million” came from. Or even if goats were counted.

via TweetDeck in reply to PointZeroOne

Pro Tip: When anyone tells you a Big Number about the internet, remember to divide it by 3 billion before continuing.

via TweetDeck

There’s 3 billion people on the internet. 3 million were watching YouTube. That’s a mere 0.1%. 3 million is not amazing. (2/2)

via TweetDeck

We’re in the Big Numbers section of the keynote. “In the last 60 seconds, people watched 3 million YouTube videos.” Big? Um… (1/2el

The body language from the panel indicated to me that this was an alien question.

via TweetDeck

Doesn’t that behaviour indicate that the user didn’t want to submit that information? Is it ethical to record it without “submit”?

via TweetDeck

My questions were triggered by a comment from Cisco’s Hernandez that they could record partially-filled, abandoned web forms…

via TweetDeck

IAG’s Young indicated they consider ethical issues as part of risk process. I’m not sure I’m happy with ethics being seen as risk.

via TweetDeck

Once more, a question about whether something was ethical or socially acceptable was answered with “It’s legal.” Not the same thing.
