During my week of Monday 25 to Sunday 31 August 2025 I finally rid myself of the random infection which had been plaguing me for the last two weeks. I also picked up a new client, and started mapping out my Spring Surge of work.
I know that some of you have been hanging out for more podcast episodes. Well, there’s two eps of The 9pm Edict already recorded and ready to be edited, and I’ll be tacking the first of those in the coming week. Further guests have been invited.
I’ve also scheduled in the next episode of Another Untitled Music Podcast, with more to come during spring.
Articles
- The Weekly Cybers #83. Employees surveilled at home claim unfair dismissal, Senate to investigate search engine safety, telco intercept laws to be tweaked, and much more.
You can read my previous writing at Authory, where you can also subscribe to an email compilation of any new stories each Sunday morning.
Media Appearances
- My 2011 photo of a honey bee sitting on a Coreopsis lanceolata flower was used to illustrate a blog post, California Pollinator Plants: Nectar Blooms for Bees, Butterflies and Hummingbirds. It’s far from the first time this one has been used.
Podcasts, Photos, Videos, Corporate Largesse
None of these, though there’s some more podcasts coming up very soon. Finally. You can subscribe to my YouTube channel to be notified when new videos appear and when livestreams are scheduled. It’s been a while, so I should probably do one soon.

The Week Ahead
After two weeks of fighting the lurgi I’m looking forward to getting a few things done.
In the first part of the week I’ll set up my spring crowdfunder, to be launched later in the week, and start the detailed work on a new client project. I’ll also lock in the next few podcast recordings. Yes, this is the Spring Surge.
Mid-week I’ll finally edit and post the podcast I recorded with Ariel Bogle and Cam Wilson, authors of Conspiracy Nation. The conversation has been slightly overtaken by events, but we do cover a lot of ground.
Update 1 September 2015: On Wednesday I’ll record a podcast about The Situation in Indonesia with Erin Cook, a journalist who specialises in the region, and who’s been on the pod a couple of times before. You might like to read her explainer from Saturday. The finished podcast will be posted that night.
The 9pm Edict and Another Untitled Music Podcast are supported by the generosity of their listeners. You might like to throw a few coins into the tip jar or subscribe for special benefits. There’s also some specific benefits for supporting AUMP. Please consider.
Then there’s more client work, I hope, and on Friday it’s The Weekly Cybers newsletter as usual.
As part of my spring cleaning I’m going to start trying to keep work within the boundaries of the working week, leaving the weekend to be the weekend. Wish me luck.
Further Ahead
Yes, I’ve started locking in a few new things, but here’s what’s been confirmed so far.
- Sydney Days, 12–16 September 2025 (TBC). Yes, it’s planned a catsitting episode, but also the perfect time for Sydney people to arrange to catch up.
- NEW: Another Untitled Music Podcast recording, 14 September 2025.
- Sam Campbell: Window Sucker, Sydney, 31 October 2025.
