Word-whore. I write 'em. I talk 'em. Information, politics, media, and the cybers. I drink. I use bad words. All publication is a political act. All communication is propaganda. All art is pornography. All business is personal. All hail Eris! Vive les poissons rouges sauvages!

Weekly Wrap 638: Remembering last year’s snow as more is imminent

Snow at the Alexandra Hotel

My week of Monday 15 to Sunday 21 August 2022 was haunted by the cold which continued from last week, although as I write this I seem to have finally recovered. Nevertheless, I did quite a bit of sleeping, and some of my SEKRIT geek-work and editorial consulting was delayed.

Weekly Wrap 637: “I’m sorry, I have a cold,” he said, before descending into aero-nostalgia

ATR 72-600 VH-VPI at Sydney Airport

My plans for the week of Monday 8 to Sunday 14 August 2022 fell into chaos. I had a sore throat, though it wasn’t the ’rona. And I slept much longer than usual. At least I got a podcast done, and some tax paperwork.

Weekly Wrap 636: With all this productivity it must be spring!

Waratah seed pod opening

Monday 25 to Sunday 31 July 2022 saw the waratah I’ve been tracking finally open up its seed pods, and I produced a podcast. See what I did there? I also started to track what’s happening in the new Parliament and launched a new crowdfunding campaign.

Weekly Wrap 634: A lot of sleep, and a little nostalgia for a decade ago

P&O Pacific Jewel in 2012

I’ve sometimes said that I seem to operate on a two-week productivity cycle. It therefore comes as no surprise that my week of Monday 18 to Sunday 24 July 2022 was a relatively quiet compared with last week’s burst of productivity.

Weekly Wrap 633: Getting back on the productivity horse, plus another good podcast

Sydney CBD from Haymarket

The theme for my week of Monday 11 to Sunday 17 July 2022 seems to have been organising things. Not only did I produce another fun podcast, I sketched out most of my work plans for the next two months. I even made some chicken soup.
