On Friday, Prime Minister Scott Morrison called a press conference to talk about a “sophisticated nation-state actor” conducting sustained cyber attacks on Australian government and private sector organisations. There’s wasn’t much detail, so why do it? I spoke about that this afternoon with Jules Schiller on ABC Adelaide.

I won’t go into the details here. You can read Asha Barbaschow’s story, Prime Minister says Australia is under cyber attack from state-based actor, and then my analysis, Scott Morrison cries ‘Cyber wolf!’ to deniably blame China.

We were joined by noted public intellectual Professor Clive Hamilton, who’s written quite a bit recently about the “threat” of China to Australia.
