Heading to Enmore Rd for a quiet dinner, a glass of wine and perhaps a little bit of reading.

via Twitter Web Client

About to formally down tools. Pondering whether to have dinner in our out, alone or with company, before a later-night writing session.

@zhasper Your pay cheque should use Googlemath: $10 - $2 = $10. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jamezpolley

I wonder what %age of Twitter traffic is people asking if Twitter is fixed, borked, back, visible, down again, born again or fat-free…

via Twitter Web Client

Revelling in the joy that is Dean Allen’s blog. If only I had half a bottle of his wit! http://textism.com

via Twitter Web Client

@zhasper Hehe! What’s wrong with Googlemath? 1 + 3 = 3. Seems OK to me… ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jamezpolley

Dear CeBIT, if I haz not booked for dinner after first 3000 emails I will not book on email 3001. FOAD KTHXBYE.

@garthk Further linkage on “retired” US military sock puppets in the media. http://is.gd/7SI

via Twitter Web Client in reply to garthk

@garthk It will be good to share an entire day of geeky goodness with you.

@willhughes <- Gets my last code ‘cos he works in dev and can use info, and was earliest non-@Nickhodge to contact me.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to willhughes

Pondering joy for last Google Developer Day pass. Will consider while watching original Rex http://is.gd/7Sy and remake http://is.gd/7Sx

@Nickhodge Is it A Good Thing to send a Microsoft d00d to Google event? ;) Shoosh, it might be secrets!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to NickHodgeMSFT

I have 2 codes left for Google Developer Day in Sydney 18 June. http://is.gd/7Sk Who wants them and why? Make me an offer!

Now I want a holiday. The fact that our garden frog survived another summer is insufficient nature contact, printer-ants notwithstanding.

via Twitter Web Client

@andrewbarnett Buzzed by puffins?!? UNINHABITED island?!? OK, now I am 101% jealous!

via Twitter Web Client

Buzzed by two loudly-squawking low-flying brightly-plumed rainbow lorikeets on a rainy day: heaven.

via Twitter Web Client

@Nickhodge Oh dear, I guess I’d better book Twittereurovision then. At least I have plenty of time to organise.

@gnoll110 Retweet. Chinese troops seen on streets in Zimbabwe’s 3rd city Mutare, supporting Mugabe. True or not? http://tinyurl.com/4x5lke

@Colgo Welcome to my ant-filled Twitterverse too.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Colgo

Several prints later we’re down to 1 live ant, 8 dead ants per page. Perhaps we need a new measure for printer specs here. Ants per page.

via Twitter Web Client

Print test page. Colours align OK. Page contains colour blocks, black text, 6 live ants, 14 dead ants (flat).

via Twitter Web Client

HP Printer Utility software does not have “Persuade ants to leave” menu option. :(

via Twitter Web Client

@ssharwood Could be a good band name too: Magenta Ink Ants.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ssharwood

@garthk Chemical warfare has been mostly successful, combined with a vacuum cleaner. Once all dead, multiple prints will clean the rollers.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to garthk

Ants have indeed colonised printer, storing eggs inside ink tank holders and emerging when we print. Living inside 50s B-grade sci-fi movie.

@garthk If a key logger has already captured keystrokes, displaying the password is no extra risk. Only affects mouse-driven password entry.

@SteveMills Chances are we ALL need more fibre in our diet, since 90% of the world is full of it. ;)

@SilkCharm Oh I wasn’t freebie-hunting but won’t say no. :) I’d even promise not to say anything inappropriate.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SilkCharm

Just discovered http://newseum.org/ has “today’s front pages” from 500+ newspapers globally. Compare and contrast!

via Twitter Web Client

@SilkCharm The MEAA’s social media & public affairs conf next month. http://is.gd/86B I don’t think I can justify it right now.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SilkCharm

@textism I’m thoroughly enjoying the window into your world. Your beautifully balanced writing makes mine looked cluttered. http://is.gd/871

via Twitter Web Client in reply to textism

@marclehmann If I’m going to spend $800 to see @SilkCharm I’d want a lot more than just a conference presentation… ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to marclehmann

@marclehmann They need to read up on the concept of “legal tender”, tho that’s legally fuzzy in Australia. http://is.gd/86M

via Twitter Web Client in reply to marclehmann

@marclehmann Already happens in reverse with property rental. Renter: I’ll pay rent in cash. Agent: We only accept bank cheque or transfer.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to marclehmann

@marclehmann eBay just tried the usual trick: The bigger of two business partners forces their rules onto the smaller.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to marclehmann

@marclehmann Computers & network efficiencies should cause cost of transactions to go down. eBay’s move causes them to go up. Market FAIL.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to marclehmann

Can I somehow justify $800 and 3 days at conference on social media & public affairs? How many fans do I have? http://is.gd/86B

via Twitter Web Client

@spinopsys Damn, 10 minutes is forever! Now if we could somehow trim it down to 8 mins I might be interested… ;)

via Twitter Web Client

@spinopsys How much time did it take to set up that social network on Ning? Curious as to effort levels involved.

Reserve Bank may weigh in against eBay Aust’s forced PayPal use. http://is.gd/863

Wed plan: Write 2 articles; placate 2 clients; mostly a day at my desk with a gentle pace. At least that’s my hope.

Emerges to sounds of rain falling, cats whining, heavy jets landing on the roof. Normality is resumed.

Publican’s staff suitably persuaded.

via Twitter Web Client

@Nickhodge I’ll persuade publican to leave free WiFi running.
