OK, so New York DOES have a tornado warning. http://is.gd/1y1g Reuters is the ultimate reality.

@lewellyn Calling 37,734 people a “15-bit” stream? LOL! Geek, much? :P

via Twitter Web Client in reply to lewellyn

@jeffsonstein Haven’t explored USB cam on Mac with http://tinyurl.com/67f7r8 or any others. May try, could do cheap “cam 2 & 3” for my Live!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@seancarmody You may enjoy “Bayes’ Theorem 1, Mandatory Filtering 0” on govt’s internet censorware. http://is.gd/1feQ

via Twitter Web Client in reply to seancarmody

@seancarmody Yes, making data which is “theoretically public” into “actually public” and useful is a noble pastime. More please.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to seancarmody

@jeffsonstein Actually @DenubisX was after recording a conference, video source-switching between speaker and slides. Now that I look back.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein Of course @Jasoncalacanis CAN’T “follow” 37,734. His is a big Twitterriver: he can piss in it but can’t fish effectively.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@jeffsonstein I use SnapzProX all the time to snarf “video screen grabs”, tho it doesn’t work for the “live broadcast” thing.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jeffsonstein

@seancarmody Your GroceryChoice data mining at http://is.gd/1xRL …? Yes, nice work. I do love it when this sort of thing is done.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to seancarmody

@chieftech Heh! Twitter IS just a Turing Test on a massive scale. @jeffsonstein is a bot that has everyone fooled so far.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to chieftech

@seancarmody The Bentley Bar’s pool table? Yay! The other special thing about the Bentley was being able to mull up at the bar. So I’m told.

Re “out of whack follower/followed ratios: Twitter uses that to identify spammers, so spammers will soon stop doing it. The usual arms race.

via Twitter Web Client

@trib … but I see few Twitter users with a business name as ID (rather than a human) that are here to do anything other than talk AT us.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to trib

@trib Oh agreed, good question to start a conversation. I’ll probably start doing the same…

via Twitter Web Client in reply to trib

@trib@UMinnPress why the hell would you follow me?” Um, so you’d mention them to 1500-odd people, like you just did? Mission accomplished.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to trib

Emerges. Despite a strange dream (which did not involve Germaine Greer) I feel somewhat refreshed.

via Twitter Web Client

I don’t have the energy to offend anyone, I think I might just go to bed. [exit]

via Twitter Web Client

@DenubisX Sorry, I know zero about Windows apps for anything other than office stuff. Thank the gods.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to DenubisX

@DenubisX Tho atm Cam Twist is hard-coded for 320 x 240 presentations, tho that fits my “live on the internet” plans.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to DenubisX

@DenubisX Cam Twist (OS X) can use the screen (or section thereof) as a video source. Have been thinking of creating a workflow for this.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to DenubisX

@magia3e For conference video, either frame it so presenter and screen in the shot, or maybe a 2-cam shoot with software vision switching.

My post about the covers of the Greer etc books. http://is.gd/1uPT

via Twitter Web Client

@mpesce Then the pastel covers of the books are teh FAIL. A set of 4 with Kosky, Greer, Malouf & d’Alpuget … different message.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@mpesce I laughed when I saw the set of books, tho. “Barry Kosky on Ecstasy” and “Germaine Greer on Rage” sounded like a joke.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@mpesce Didn’t see any of this week’s Greer appearances. But why is she here? Oh, yeah, a new book. [sigh]

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

I’ve got the Macquarie Dictionary’s definition of “un-Australian” at http://is.gd/1uLH as part of another conversation.

via Twitter Web Client

@mpesce Germaine Greer was vitally important once. I think she’s become a parody of herself and a disappointingly obvious publicity whore.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

Oh, it’s public! @firstdogonmoon’s new cartoon on Germaine Greer. http://tinyurl.com/5dkhbk [smirks]

via Twitter Web Client

@firstdogonmoon I agree 100% with your suggestions regarding Ms Greer. You have ended the week well, Sir!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to firstdogonmoon

@john_chr “Thought Crime?” Well, our federal police commissioner has already suggested compulsory “reprogramming”. http://is.gd/1uJJ

via Twitter Web Client in reply to john_chr

@Alegrya and I are ROFLing at this wonderful rendition of the song “Ken Lee”. http://is.gd/1uFY Language FAIL.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Alegrya

OK, Music Max has made up for their NKOTB error with Pink Floyd’s “See Emily Play”. http://is.gd/1uED

via Twitter Web Client

@mhawkins1970 LOL! No, NKOTB just blipped up on the pay-TV screen there in The Afternoon Office(TM). Foxtel, you will pay for this!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mhawkins1970

RT @jeffsonstein: UK gov’t went to EU, convinced them to pass this, came back to UK pop’n & said “we gotta do this now”. http://is.gd/1uCF

via Twitter Web Client

@neerav Agreed, the UK is “1984” incarnate. I’ll read your piece http://is.gd/1uAN laterwards, to prevent happiness. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to neerav

What have I done to deserve New Kids On The Block?

via Twitter Web Client

@decryption No, not just” students and artists use Macs. Der. Did I say they did? :P

via Twitter Web Client in reply to decryption

UK Govt plans to log EVERY phone call, SMS and email. http://is.gd/1uxU

via Twitter Web Client

@DavidFeng I think the preponderance of Macs in Newtown & Enmore reflects the student / artistic demographic here.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to DavidFeng

@thedullfig Yes, Blue Fig Cafe on Enmore Rd (next to Enmore Theatre) has free WiFi. Dunno about the “attachment” thing, just tools for me.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to thedullfig

@Alegrya Well I’m at The Afternoon Office(TM) now, the only customer upstairs, inside at least.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to Alegrya

@magia3e At conferences I’ve been doing “live Twitterstream” plus occasionally live video feeds. If I go to Oz-IA I’d do the same.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to magia3e

“Advise” is a verb. “Advice” is a noun. I do actually know this. [sigh]

via Twitter Web Client

As I leave Blue Fig Cafe I see 5 x MacBooks / Pros and not a single Windows laptop.

via Cloudhopper

Errands on King St, Newtown, and then working from The Afternoon Office(TM). Will advice when there.

via Twitter Web Client

@StuartL Re moving DSL, even if same number & same exchange, it’s still physically re-patching a wire, which is batched. Not that it’s good.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to StuartLivesey

Migrating to Blue Fig Cafe, Enmore Rd, for brunch and their WiFi linkage.

via Twitter Web Client

@bronwen (I’m just conscious today that I’m WAY down in billable hours this month, and way down in creative-solitude time. Stay tuned.)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bronwen

@bronwen Maybe. But it’s on a weekend (sacred) and IA isn’t a prime focus for me. Is a 2-day IA conference the best use of my time? [shrugs]

via Twitter Web Client in reply to bronwen

I’ve been invited to the Oz-IA 2008 information architecture conference to do my live stuff. http://is.gd/1u75 Should I go?

via Twitter Web Client

@seancarmody The author of that piece on Bayes and Internet filtering is on Twitter too: @randomphrase

via Twitter Web Client in reply to seancarmody

@lewellyn “You can’t fit 37734 into 15 bits,” true, but I assumed it was a an approximation. [shrugs]

via Twitter Web Client in reply to lewellyn

RT @mpesce RT @jeffhoard: CNN on whether Obama is the Anti-Christ? http://is.gd/1xZy Remember, they have The Bomb, people! And lots of ‘em.

via Twitter Web Client

@mpesce I’d have thought that in Adelaide the Churches would be the least of your worries… ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to mpesce

@desaraev Hi! Another US follower, eh? How did I blip up on your radar, may I ask?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to desaraev

Sat plan: Potter at desk, reading & writing & thinking; at some point gym e@SnarkyPlatypusPlatypus, timing TBA.

via Twitter Web Client

@lewellyn Ah I tell a lie, I did get Macam [sp?] working with a Logitech 4000 under OS X Tiger for my first Stilgherrian Live. Hmm…
