I’m turning off the internet now, since I’ve finished with it. You’ll have to amuse yourselves some other way.

@dpn @jasonlangenauer $10 a bottle for Żubrówka? This one cost me a smidgeon under $42 the other day. Erm, I mean a month ago.

via TweetDeck

@jasonlangenauer There was some Å»ubrówka vodka left, albeit not enough. But it’s cold and wet and 20 minutes walk each way didn’t appeal.

via TweetDeck

@seearjay Sadly, brandy doesn’t magically materialise in cottages in the scrub one= cold nights. Or warm nights, for that matter.

Staying warm. And not writing.

Staying warm. And writing.

RT @jdub: @vwduder Looks really good. Feels good with fingers? [Surely it’s too early for this sort of sex-play?]

via TweetDeck

@SoniaLastrega Oh I know Mixed Herbs is a thing, but I still think it’s a silly thing.

via TweetDeck in reply to soniaahhh

“Mixed herbs”? Which herbs? Mixed how? And to what end? What a stupid product!

via TweetDeck

@antwillis @dananimal Sure, how about we forget the whole thing ever happened? :)

via TweetDeck

Ponndering the travel and accommodation schedule for the next few weeks, given that it includes Easter when Bunjaree Cottages are 125% full.

via TweetDeck

Anyway, one of the large honeyeaters flew up to the balcony and sat next to me the other day. It’s not that interesting a story, really.

via TweetDeck

I mean it’s ridiculous! Just look at this! I have to go through all these and find the one I want! http://arseh.at/5sj

via TweetDeck

I have come to the conclusion that there are too many kinds of honeyeaters and wattlebirds.

via TweetDeck

@KristianStupid Thanks, yes, my feeling is this couldn’t be other than a lyrebird ‘cos of the range of sounds it was making.

via TweetDeck in reply to KristianStupid

I haven’t seen this bird either, @R_Chirgwin, ‘cos that’d mean putting on pants. It’s farking cold out there today. I’m working from bed.

via TweetDeck

Nice work catching a photo of a lyrebird in the Blue Mountains, @desertgirl_2 http://twitpic.com/4hfsb8

via TweetDeck

I will return to the subject of lyrebirds momentarily, and recount the tale of another avian visitor. But for now, I must make a phone call.

via TweetDeck

RT @RatbagsDotCom: Lyrebirds are usually found in rainforests near the coast, but they could be in the Blue Mountains.

via TweetDeck

@jeamland Nope, dunno of any Hipmunk-like tool for hire cars. It’d be a sensible extension though. And also for rental housing properties.

via TweetDeck in reply to jeamland

Ta @wolfcat @dananimal it must be a lyrebird: one sound was suddenly some mechanical device. Its butcherbird impression is very good too.

via TweetDeck

Do we have lyrebirds in this scrub? Something out there is making an insanely wide range of unrelated noises. /cc @R_Chirgwin

via TweetDeck

Played with Hipmunk yet? Such a sensible and clear way to search for flights and hotels. http://www.hipmunk.com/

via TweetDeck

@kathoc Actually that Haight Ashbury Ghost tour probably isn’t for me, I tend not to enjoy prepackaged experiences. http://bit.ly/1HslsX

via TweetDeck in reply to kathoc

@kathoc Ah yes, @SnarkyPlatypus did a trip to Berkeley on that last trip, while I was slaving away at the conference. Seemed fascinating.

via TweetDeck in reply to kathoc

@kathoc The beat poet museum is an interesting thought, yes. I think we actually walked past it last time I was in SFO. Is it on Broadway?

via TweetDeck in reply to kathoc

Well no-one suggested I take the night-in-SYD option. Thanks for your input. Now, to confirm there’s no clear need for SYD that weekend…

via TweetDeck

Replies are currently 3-nil in favour of an extra day in SFO and flying direct to BNE. Sydney, it seems you are not so special.

via TweetDeck

Moi aussi, @R_Chirgwin @juhasaarinen. Much lag, dropouts browsing US sites today, on Telstra Next G rather than @iiNet. Anyone else?

via TweetDeck

Decision: Fly SFO to SYD and stay Sat 14/5 before flying to BNE on Sun 15/5? Or fly SFO to BNE, missing Sydney but an extra free day in SFO?

via TweetDeck

Confirmed: I’ll be covering the AusCERT Information Security Conference in Brisbane 15-18 May. http://arseh.at/5se

via TweetDeck

RT @safzoro: Oh congratulations on news that you are to be wed and therefore have Wed plans. [Somebody lap her, please.]

via TweetDeck

Wed plan: A planning and research day, both professionally and personally, because the next two months are hectic and will be stressful.

via TweetDeck

RT @NewtonMark: The people explaining said concepts largely don’t understand the implications of their own answers. [No, deeper than that.]

via TweetDeck

@dan_gerritsen As in basic facts still weren’t known by the public, e.g. which proportion of population gets which NBN technology.

via TweetDeck in reply to dan_gerritsen

Agreed @oliyoung @wolfcat Labor is shite at explaining their own policies, as @BernardKeane repeated only yesterday. http://arseh.at/5sa

via TweetDeck

What struck me about the program was how many basic NBN matters still needed explaining this far into the project.

via TweetDeck

Monday’s ABC Radio National “Australia Talks” on the NBN can be listened to at http://arseh.at/5p3

Libraryhack mashup competition, data from Australian & NZ libraries. Ideas competition closes 30/4. http://arseh.at/5s8

via TweetDeck

Wednesday, take 2.

via TweetDeck

Oh. Now my body is saying it doesn’t want me to be awake after all. Very well then.

via TweetDeck

Apparently I am to be awake at this time. So much for sleeping in. Nevertheless, yesterday’s break was most beneficial.
