Er, thank you @maggotts50 @jonoabroad @lukephillips but there’s no need.

via TweetDeck

@lukephillips It is, though working late on a Sunday is maybe the least fucked-up aspect to my world right now.

via TweetDeck in reply to lukeofpreston

@darrenpauli How can you still be up working at this hour? You’re famous. You were on television this week.

via TweetDeck in reply to darrenpauli

I was working too late this evening. I’m still in too serious a mood. And midnight approaches. My life is actually quite fucked.

via TweetDeck

@franksting Any hashtag you imagine has already been populated.

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

@macleanbrendan 2. Is it actually possible to have sex addiction working in the trade? I’d think the opposite would happen.

via TweetDeck in reply to macleanbrendan

@macleanbrendan Two thoughts on that. 1. Sex addiction seems to be particularly honourable in Ophraland, Good Weekend etc; and…

via TweetDeck in reply to macleanbrendan

@macleanbrendan I guess it’s like celebs who score more coverage for talking about their addiction, which of course they’re now over.

via TweetDeck in reply to macleanbrendan

@sexenheimer The only reason I won’t publicly name these hypocrites is that I sometimes have to work with them on conference panels etc.

via TweetDeck in reply to sexenheimer

@macleanbrendan Oh apparently I’m not part of that “everyone”, but do people give a shit about that sort of thing any more?

via TweetDeck in reply to macleanbrendan

@macleanbrendan I know an even better fun secret, and it’s got nothing to do with Twitter or the Logies.

via TweetDeck in reply to macleanbrendan

@veritychambers @franksting No, not even two glasses. I believe an entirely new category of substances is called for.

via TweetDeck

RT @sexenheimer: Is there actually anyone claiming to celebrate the death of old media and then tweeting about TV? [Yes. No names though.]

via TweetDeck

@franksting I need something a damnsight stronger than a glass of wine, I reckon.

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

I agree that Twitter has enabled a communal experience for live TV, @dekrazee1, but claiming it’s increased viewing is pretty bold.

via TweetDeck

@keikomushi I can’t even remember the last time I watched broadcast TV, apart from when it’s on in a pub. Probably election night last year.

via TweetDeck in reply to keikomushi

@sexenheimer I have no idea what the hashtag is about but I’m happy to pollute it if you think that’d be helpful.

via TweetDeck in reply to sexenheimer

RT @elieeeescha: It’s old media working hand in hand with new media. [Which is like a syphilitic pig fucking deformed baby goat.]

via TweetDeck

@The_Rooster Well apparently I have a special talent for these things. I believe a high school teacher noted it once.

via TweetDeck in reply to The_Rooster

I note with interest that the vast majority of my hashtag filters are about TV programs. So much for the death of old media. Hypocrites.

via TweetDeck

It’d be nice if you cunts absorbed in the bullshit of the Logies would fucking well hashtag your tweets so they can be filtered out.

via TweetDeck

@GumbyRoffo “All is well” is by no means an accurate description of my world, but it’s a suitable cover story for now.

via TweetDeck in reply to GumbyRoffo

Wow. I think I’ve finally just finished everything that had to be done today. No wonder I feel shit.

via TweetDeck

@GumbyRoffo It is not an intrusion. Fear not. All this has been posted on my website or tweeted at some point.

via TweetDeck in reply to GumbyRoffo

@GumbyRoffo That doesn’t explain why here specifically. @R_Chirgwin and family, who own Bunjaree Cottages, made an arrangement with me.

via TweetDeck in reply to GumbyRoffo

@GumbyRoffo This isn’t a tree change. It’s just a temporary place to stay while I’m between houses. http://arseh.at/3l0

via TweetDeck in reply to GumbyRoffo

@ApostrophePong “Stalking”? Oh dear. Surely there’s already way too much information about me online.

via TweetDeck in reply to ApostrophePong

I find the weekly format personally useful too, @sylmobile, though I don’t include any personal matters apart from little glimpses.

via TweetDeck

New blog post: “Weekly Wrap 47” http://arseh.at/6i7 Do people find these posts useful, or should I blog each thing individually?

via TweetDeck

@michaelneale Yes. If example.com runs JavaScript from js.com, the JS is executed in the context of example.com, so it’s a 1st-party cookie.

via TweetDeck in reply to michaelneale

@grumpymojo Thank you. You and others have been most helpful in confirming my understanding. Much appreciated.

via TweetDeck in reply to grumpymojo

@michaelneale Nope, don’t go back to primary sources and replicate hard work. Find the people who’ve already done it and written it up.

via TweetDeck in reply to michaelneale

@grumpymojo Ah yes, sorry, misstated the question. JS loaded by example.com from js.com could still set cookies for example.com, ja?

via TweetDeck in reply to grumpymojo

RT @leslienassar: It’s the dickish 3rd-party iframe scripts I’m thinking about. Consider me wrongified. [Ah, thought it sounded tricky.]

via TweetDeck

RT @leslienassar: I am also doubting my assertion. [I think I might not mention that bit in my article then. I may mention none of this.]

via TweetDeck

@jdub Ta for confirming what I’m reading, which says [most?] browsers let JS-generated cookies through in this way. Curious stuff!

via TweetDeck in reply to jdub

RT @leslienassar: Safari (correctly) treats JavaScript loaded from third-party domains as third-party cookies. [Orly? Must find linkage…]

via TweetDeck

I admit to heading down a rabbit-hole here, as this question is not central to the thesis of my article. But it’s good to know nonetheless.

via TweetDeck

I’m seeing material that says cookies set by JavaScript [not in HTTP headers] are 1st-party cookies, as JS executes in context of the page.

via TweetDeck

@grumpymojo Is that so even when JavaScript is involved? Does the context change when a chunk of JavaScript pulls in from another domain?

via TweetDeck in reply to grumpymojo

Reading RFCs on a Sunday evening is not good for the brain.

via TweetDeck

Alas I need something a bit more definitive that “thought” or “guess”, @thomasking @michaelneale :)

via TweetDeck

If I read that snippet from RFC2965 correctly, @JuliusFlywheel, then it remains a 3rd-party cookie. Ta for the RFC number, tho, I can hunt.

via TweetDeck

Or does it become a 1st-party cookie because both the JS and the cookie come from 3rdparty.com?

via TweetDeck

Web dev fact check: If example.com pulls in JavaScript from 3rdparty.com, which then places a cookie, is that still a 3rd-party cookie?

via TweetDeck

RT @michaelneale: First time writing for Play School? [Yep, and it’s bloody difficult incorporating all the blue jokes into the narrative.]

via TweetDeck

Actually, the first three fucks ARE in quoted speech. As is the anal rape reference. So this should all be OK.

via TweetDeck

I wonder how many times this new editor will let me use the word “fuck” in one article. Perhaps if I pretend they’re all in quoted speech…

via TweetDeck

Getting back to the day’s writing, I notice that the first 100 words written are quite bitter. This should turn out well.

via TweetDeck

I don’t actually know what any of that means, but apparently quite a few people will be interested.

via TweetDeck

“Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity subscribers (in countries where the service is available) will receive 30 days free service.”

“All existing PlayStation Network customers will be provided with 30 days free membership in the PlayStation Plus premium service.”

It’s a magnificent autumn day, which means the falling leaves would soon obscure any shallow grave.

“Patch Monday” podcast filed. It has stuff in it about Apple’s little location logging thing, and will be online mid-morning tomorrow.

via TweetDeck

OK, that’s enough from me about Silverlight for now. Ta for your comments. Time for me to go into studio mode and get some work done.

via TweetDeck

Yeah I was just reporting that one factoid, @kofeyh. I wasn’t making any kind of platform-comparison point. That stuff shits me to tears.

via TweetDeck

No idea what MSFT is / isn’t doing with Silverlight, @goashley. I just expect websites to work when I go to them. Shouldn’t be my problem.

via TweetDeck

Wow.Silverlight in Safari is using around 80% of a processor core just while idling on this one page. Scary. http://arseh.at/6hn

via TweetDeck

Is there Silverlight for Android, @MSAU? It not, I’m completely unable to use that page on my phone. WHAT IF I NEED THIS INFO ON THE BUS?!!?

via TweetDeck

Mind you @MSAU all I’m missing at “Microsoft Australia Management Team” is, well, the only way to navigate the list. http://arseh.at/6hn

via TweetDeck

Is this right, @MSAU? If I hit a site with Silverlight stuff, I’ll have to switch from Firefox 4 over to Safari? This is in OS X, of course.

via TweetDeck

Sun plan, unordered: Write op-ed; write business document; package “Patch Monday” podcast; write blog post; shopping Wentworth Falls.

@cielo_in_melbs If you have a look at the arseh.at website it will explain how to use the arseh.at service. Blame @thepatus
