@benmcginnes @davidgerard I’m a bit worried that Diaspora seems to been seeing security as something you can add in later.

via TweetDeck

Slowly becoming aware that tomorrow week I leave for the Kuala Lumpur gig. That snuck up quickly. arseh.at/kpe

via TweetDeck

@benmoretti No, I certainly won’t be taking credit for the failure of Google+ because I didn’t really do anything.

via TweetDeck in reply to morebento

Right. Concerns about Diaspora’s security and coding quality. Confidence is not instilled. arseh.at/kqh HT @davidgerard

via TweetDeck

@benmcginnes Yes, I suppose Diaspora could really gain here. If people ever move from Facebook.

via TweetDeck in reply to benmcginnes

@benmcginnes I had assumed the Googleslaves would’ve understood Scottish intercaps, but not others. But some of decisions have been daft.

via TweetDeck in reply to benmcginnes

“Google+ is failing”, it says here. Traffic is falling off. arseh.at/kqg HT @GTRoberts

via TweetDeck

@benmcginnes That’s quite a damning observation about Google+, Sir! I must admit, the more I’ve thought about it the more it’s .

via TweetDeck in reply to benmcginnes

RT @vealmince: Pfft. Who cares? Google signed up 20 million users, of whom about two dozen still use the bloody thing. [True enough.]

via TweetDeck

This whole Google “real names” thing seems to have really kicked off. Perhaps I should do an update tomorrow, eh @sophblack?

@nanopunk “Fappin” is a good thing to be, right?

via TweetDeck in reply to PitcherJenna

Oh. Forecast minimum tonight for Katoomba is 6C. It’ll be the same here at Wentworth Falls. I may have misjudged the situation.

via TweetDeck

RT @fictillius: Alcohol lowers your core body temperature. [That’s OK then. I’ll pretty damn hot to begin with.]

via TweetDeck

@jonaholmesMW Sydney was delightful today, wasn’t it! I’ve just spent 12 days in Sydney, came back up here this arvo until Friday.

via TweetDeck in reply to jonaholmesAge

@NewtonMark I should’ve grabbed some whiskey while I was in town Oh well. I have wine. I will survive.

via TweetDeck in reply to NewtonMark

Thank you, @retrogrrl @BeauGiles @andrewdotnich, wine shall be opened. I shan’t mull it, that takes ages and I’m actually not a big fan.

via TweetDeck

@roneo Kelly’s, like others, has had Magners in bottles and Bulmers on tap for some time. They’re first in Australia to have Magners on tap.

via TweetDeck in reply to roneo

So, if I can’t be arsed lighting a fire tonight, I can counterbalance the potential cold with wine and cheese, right?

via TweetDeck

Dear Newtown people, draft Magners cider, the first test batch of 5 kegs shipped from Ireland, is now at Kelly’s on King. It’s rather nice.

via TweetDeck

@smange Indeed. But it’s worse in this case because failing to respect people’s name choices is the entire point of the piece!

via TweetDeck in reply to smange

@GreenJ Something is prevent The Drum comments from appearing? Surely that’s a feature, not a bug?

via TweetDeck in reply to GreenJ

“Please note that danah boyd’s name is in lower case, as it is,” said my edit notes. Sigh. The arsehattery still has my name attached.

via TweetDeck

It’s rather ironic that in the words around my podcast on respecting people’s names a @zdnetaustralia sub-editor has capitalised danah boyd.

via TweetDeck

I have arrived at Bunjaree Cottages. Rosella Cottage is all clean n tidy n stuff. We can soon fix that!

via TweetDeck

Thank you for your interest, but no further correspondence will be entered into, @jasonlangenauer @bengrubb @duncanriley

via TweetDeck

RT @ma_ttie: You could always just claim you’re testing it for, um, “work purposes”? [Well, I WAS doing that! $200 per hour plus cabs.]

via TweetDeck

Wow. Grindr really kicks off as soon as you’re west of Strathfield! Erm… allegedly.

via TweetDeck

Mobile: Walk to Newtown station; 1543 train westbound; change Strathfield; train to Wentworth Falls, arriving 1746; shops; cab to Bunjaree.

via TweetDeck

They’re playing “Eye of the Tiger” already”? Gawd.

via TweetDeck

@R_Chirgwin It all sounds most unpleasant. You should get rid of all those trees.

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

@R_Chirgwin Is there anything I need to know about the plumbing disasters and/or septic tanks?

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

One side effect of having a leisurely lunch on this lovely Sydney day is that I’ll now arrive in Wentworth Falls after sunset. And cold.

via TweetDeck

@GLComputing Oh, as mentioned in an earlier tweet, the draft Magners cider tastes crisper than from the bottle. I assume that’s a CO2 issue.

via TweetDeck in reply to GLComputing

@GLComputing Yep, the entire point of this exercise was to get the actual Irish-made cider here in kegs.

via TweetDeck in reply to GLComputing

RT @juhasaarinen: I thought you were a pony man when it comes to cider drinking. [Only on pension Thursdays.]

via TweetDeck

@benmoretti The publican has kept me in the loop as this keg deal was being worked out. It’s taken more than a year.

via TweetDeck in reply to morebento

@benmoretti Oh I already regularly drink Magners pear cider, and yes it’s lovely.

via TweetDeck in reply to morebento

OK, that’s enough internet pluggage for one free fuckin’ middy of cider. Even it was an historical moment.

via TweetDeck

@GLComputing Um, I suppose they would be from Suntory. I didn’t stay to chat as my lunch had just been served.

via TweetDeck in reply to GLComputing

It is brewed in Ireland, @GLComputing. No licensing deals. This test is about the kegs for such a distant transport run.

via TweetDeck

So far it’s been in bottles, @GLComputing @Tamarajawad. The Magners reps just brought in the first kegs. It had to pass food safety.

via TweetDeck

Kelly’s on King in Newtown has just taken delivery of the first test batch of 5 kegs of Magners cider. As opposed to bottles.

via TweetDeck

It makes a difference too. Magners is a crisper taste when it’s from the keg rather than the bottle.

via TweetDeck

I am currently drinking the very first glass of draft Magners cider to be drunk in Australia by anyone ever. And it is lovely.

via TweetDeck

I have just been offered the first samples of the new batch, free of charge.

via TweetDeck

@benmoretti I don’t know that a *work* by the Lunar Calendar, well, not any more than any other mammal. But I do pay attention to it.

via TweetDeck in reply to morebento

@franksting Oh I get so many pointers to Good Stuff from followers, yes. A vital part of doing media these days, I’d have thought.

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

The New Moon is coming up at 1304 AEST. That means I can start the new cycle over lunch. That’s most civiilised.

via TweetDeck

@bastardsheep Oh I’m glad that “Patch Monday” worked for you. I’d slept in and was only awake 10 mins before recording @Skud’s interview.

via TweetDeck in reply to bastardsheep

Errands completed. Who’d want to rush them on such a glorious (nearly-)spring day?

via TweetDeck

@franksting I say that in the full knowledge that I suspect it will expose me as an arsehat ridden with memory loss.

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

@franksting Please may I offer the excuse in advance: It’s Monday morning. Now, WTF has Derek Sivers got to do with anything?

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

Mobile: Check out; walk to King St; Enmore Rd; King St again; somewhere for brunch and some work. Everything shall be relaxed.

via TweetDeck

via TweetDeck

@franksting I consider it part of my life’s mission to ensure that is known as widely as possible.

via TweetDeck in reply to franksting

Mon plan: Errands Enmore/Newtown; plan the week’s writing; plan September; train to Wentworth Falls; shopping; quiet night.

via TweetDeck

@JustinQ Well we can’t have just ANYONE subscribing to the RSS feeds, can we?

via TweetDeck

Yes, @JustinQ, there’s RSS feeds for “Patch Monday” and other @zdnetaustralia stuff at this annoying-to-find page. arseh.at/kpz

via TweetDeck

Supposedly we live in a digital world yet after spending just 12 days in one location I’ve collected so much physical shit! Trashing it now.

via TweetDeck

If I were about to have a day, I’d be tempted to call it “Monday”.
