That is enough work for today. I started very early and I have a cold. There’s no alcohol here, but I have a fire and that is enough. Kinda.

via Janetter for Mac

So, as I said, it’s cold and very windy here at @bunjaree. So I’ve created fire. And here’s a picture. flickr.com/photos/stilghe…

via Janetter for Mac

@dahowlett Oh it was already well-formed English. Mostly. But @engochick has turned it into Improved Cyborg Engish.

Watching my carefully-crafted story (yeah right) be scattered into a million pieces and then reassembled better. Stronger. More powerful.

@moldor It’s a shame. I was rather looking forward to 410km/h winds in Cranebrook. Great pictures for the TV news!

via Janetter for Mac in reply to moldor

@moldor Your thing says it’s gusting to 410km/h. Somehow I suspect that’s not actually happening.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to moldor

Playing telephone tag.

via Janetter for Mac

@moldor @Farmweld Well those stats are from Katoomba bmcc.nsw.gov.au/weather/Katoom… but yes it’s pretty much that here at Wentworth Falls.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to moldor

Whacko. It’s 5.8C outside, but windchill is down to 0.9C. Wind 38km/h gusting to 57. I’m SO glad I lit the fire earlier!

@barrysaunders Did you see my rant about Australia boldly going for the telegraph but not the NBN? abc.net.au/unleashed/3901…

via Janetter for Mac

@barrysaunders I’d heard of “The Victorian Internet” en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Victo… but haven’t read it. Looks interesting, though … a whole book?

via Janetter for Mac

@McDermie Yes, the IBM bloke did talk about breaking SSL to monitor employee comms. It’s more widespread than you might imagine (or want).

via Janetter for Mac in reply to McDermie

Story filed for @zdnetaustralia. Please don’t tell @engochick that I’ve waffled on for 1200 words. I’m exhausted now.

via Janetter for Mac

So I’m researching 19th century law in a piece about cybercrime. I have a weird job.

@SnarkyPlatypus WHY ARE YOU DISTRACTING ME FROM MY WRITING WITH THIS TRIVIA? (Also, there’s one called “Thai Me Up”.)

via Janetter for Mac in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

RT @GreenJ: is there a Womens Weekly ‘Book of Brothel Names’? [We need a quiz website for business names: Brothel or Thai restaurant?]

via Janetter for Mac in reply to GreenJ

Attempting for focus on writing again. Must. Finish. This. Piece. Today.

via Janetter for Mac

RT @brotheradamdlm: She still hasn’t bought my t-shirt bit.ly/JyDzNJ ..grrr! [A shame. $1147.20 is such a bargain.]

T @S7U: “@stilgherrian: Arncliffe. What even is it?” And lead me not into Tempe Station. [OK, you win.]

via Janetter for Mac in reply to S7U

At @technologyspec I decode Optus’ message: Social media, BYOD will-we won’t-we is over. Get on with it. technologyspectator.com.au/emerging-tech/…

via Janetter for Mac

Arncliffe. What even is it?

via Janetter for Mac

Setting fire to all the things.

@R_Chirgwin I have abandoned Waratah Cottage and I’m moving to Banksia now because brunch and writing and deadlines.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to R_Chirgwin

@SnarkyPlatypus So, you have to read the (anti-)harassment policy, and now you’re updating your resume. Centrelink opens at 8am.

RT @SnarkyPlatypus: I would also view any new investors into Facebook as muppets, but perhaps for different reasons. [This is not a bubble.]

via Janetter for Mac in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

Right, @technologyspec story filed. Now, shower and bump out of Waratah Cottage to Banksia. Then MOAR WRITINGZ. Hectic day!

via Janetter for Mac

So, if that’s how Facebook treats people plonking down cold, hard cash, imagine how much respect they have for, oh, your private chat logs?

via Janetter for Mac in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

I love that @HarrisonPolites has already re-written Optus’ media releases for me, so I can just tear into a rant for @technologyspec.

via Janetter for Mac

@NortonSupport Thanks, Vin, but @leslienassar and I are referring to events from Nov 2011. It’s all blood under the bridge now. Cheers.

via Janetter for Mac in reply to NortonSupport

Bonjour. C’est la merde complète. Et vous?

via Janetter for Mac

I upgraded from OS X Snow Leopard to Lion using Apple’s migration tool, @leslienassar, but nothing flagged that Norton needed upgrading too.

via Janetter for Mac

RT @leslienassar: Didn’t you have a piece of security software on your Mac wig-out and kill it? [Yes. Symantec. Known version conflict tho.]

via Janetter for Mac in reply to leslienassar

Right, I am now writing the first thing for the day. You must be quiet, children, or there shall be much disgruntlement.

via Janetter for Mac

@R_Chirgwin We’re out of parrot seed, even in the storeroom. If this isn’t fixed, it’ll be Hitchcock’s “Birds” all over again.

@MollyMcIsaac Aha! My first bf had an axolotl too. Can’t remember the name though. Of the axolotl, that is. It all seems so very long ago.
