Love your work, @TrainLinkWest. This is the best Saturday night comedy in ages.

via Tweetbot for iΟS in reply to stilgherrian

In a couple minutes this train will move in the opposite direction to that expected by most passengers. This will be hilarious*.

via Tweetbot for iΟS in reply to stilgherrian

So, the train on platform 3 has just turned from an inbound Central service into an outbound Lithgow service. There is much confusion.

Official announcement: “This train, for want of a better word, is cactus.”

via Tweetbot for iΟS

“We have a little bit of a problem with the train at the moment. The driver and I are working on it as we speak.” It’s not my fault.

Alles ist in Ordnung.

via Tweetbot for iΟS

Or just kill the fuckers.

via Tweetbot for iΟS

I may have to sort out this quiet carriage situation.

via Tweetbot for iΟS

I just bolted boat noodle and a beer so I could catch the next train. This was possibly a mistake.

via Tweetbot for iΟS

This will not end well.

via Tweetbot for iΟS

Hmmm…. Someone has westernised my boat noodle. I’ll have to have words.

@doctormcdougall This is true, but yeah the Chamberlain is something else again. I have already been trolled.

via Tweetbot for iΟS in reply to doctormcdougall

@doctormcdougall Mostly Campbell St between George at Castlereagh. In this specific case, the Chamberlain Hotel because that’s the core.

@darksidelemm They look like perfectly reasonably crosswind landings to me.

So yeah if anyone wants to buy me dinner, or at least drinks, in Thaitown in maybe 90 minutes, you’re more than welcome.

@JustJimWillDo Being one of six is still pretty weird. You suddenly see how big a Boeing 737 actually is.

via Tweetbot for iΟS in reply to JustJimWillDo

@JustJimWillDo As I mentioned before, I happen to know this is a lightly patronised flight. I chose it it deliberately.

@munin @VirginAustralia They’re great. I’m a bit fan. Which remind me, I should finish this beer and go board.

via TweetDeck in reply to munin

@munin @VirginAustralia I love them. They usually cruise at around 15,000ft between those two cities, which means a great view.

via TweetDeck in reply to stilgherrian

@munin Not sure if they qualify as STOL, but @VirginAustralia uses them on lighter routes like SYD-CBR. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATR_72

via TweetDeck in reply to munin

I just saw our ATR-72 land. Damn those things can pull up fast. (I’m a bit of a fan of shorthaul turboprops.)

via TweetDeck

@R_Chirgwin You’ve got a perfectly good DSLR lying around!

via TweetDeck in reply to R_Chirgwin

The @VirginAustralia staffer just told me that once they flew a Boeing down to CBR for one passenger. Don’t tell anyone about this flight.

via TweetDeck in reply to stilgherrian

As I expected, VA657 CBR-SYD will not be particularly full. Once, when the ATR-72 was u/s, they flew a Boeing 737 down for six passengers.

The other thing about the Durham Castle is that I know where the best power outlets are.

@damonism Sold! I’ve just arrived at the Durham Castle now. Their door is open. (And yes, I was just going to grab a taxi otherwise.)

Buying me a pint at the Durham Castle is quite acceptable, because I don’t get paid until Monday at the earliest.

via Tweetbot for iΟS in reply to stilgherrian

Sat plan: 1200-1445 lunch, Durham Castle, Kingston; 1605 VA657 CBR-SYD; boat noodle, I suspect; train to Wentworth Falls. Offers considered.

via TweetDeck in reply to stilgherrian

@OaaSvc Actually they’re quite lovely, and I’ll give them a plug shortly.

via TweetDeck in reply to OaaSvc

@OaaSvc Yeah but the hotel throws me out in 30 minutes anyway, so that might as well happen after I’ve put on some clean underpants.

via TweetDeck in reply to OaaSvc

Large sections of this plan seem to involve getting out of bed, though. Sigh.

via TweetDeck in reply to stilgherrian

Although I’m open to lunch invitations.

via TweetDeck in reply to stilgherrian

Maybe I’ll just have lunch over in Kingston, at the Durham Castle, or perhaps the Kingston.
