Episode 42 of Stilgherrian Live is now online for your viewing pleasure — including a rather odd opening sequence made even more odd by the lack of sound. Oops.
This was “The Off-Axis Pseudo-Sapphic Edition”, named to mark the news that Russian duo t.A.T.u will be breaking up after they complete their next album.
The winner of “Cnut of the Week”?
Well, after the nominations we received, it was predictable. SlideShare received just 4% of the vote, presumably by the SlideShare users affected by their April Fools’ Day stunt. I received 27% for my own stunt — even though I maintain that Whirlpool started it. And even Senator Stephen Conroy only scored 29% for his performance this week.
This week’s “Cnut”, with 41% of the vote, was Lyle Shelton, the Chief of Staff for the Australian Christian Lobby, for his comments on SBS TV’s Insight and the subsequent liveblog.
Some people have said that I wasn’t paying particular attention to the live chat stream this week.
They’re right. Two reasons for that.
- I was dog tired. I was having enough trouble concentrating on the planned narrative of the program, and was afraid that I’d be distracted too easily.
- I still haven’t got my second monitor back. Usually I’d put the chat on the second screen so it was always visible. Without that screen, the main screen of my MacBook Pro is fully occupied by the other things I need for the program. I didn’t want to start flicking around between windows because I knew I’d screw something up. Well, screw it up even more than I was doing already. Due to the tiredness. I told you that. Please pay attention.
I will make up for this next week. In spades. You have been warned.
#1 Pls ban Stephen Conroy from future nominations. It’s just all too predictable.
#2 How did you NOT win Cnut of the Week? Bloody muppets of a fan club you have…
@Snarky Platypus: I was thinking that Senator Conroy may have to be proclaimed “Cnut Emeritus” or something, yes. He’s taking up valuable cnutspace in people’s minds. But please don’t insult my fans. They may be sheep, but they mean well.
