RT @SnarkyPlatypus: I think Turnbull has mastered the self-wedge maneuver. [Indeed, and @firstdogonmoon should draw a diagram.]

via Twitter Web Client

@skribe @DDsD @sunili Glad you liked it. Now give Crikey money. ;)

via Twitter Web Client

@TurnbullMalcolm won’t like what Bernard Keane wrote in Crikey today. “Turnbull’s stimulus suicide” http://is.gd/iiTh True but.

via Twitter Web Client

@babyexpat I’ve never used an acupuncturist. Am I feeling brave enough to try today? Perhaps not. I am a creature of habit… :/

via Twitter Web Client in reply to sagabrown

@ashadihopper “Special Edition” mineral water? LOL! We found some water crackers the other day labelled “Very Premium”.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to ashadihopper

Damn! My chiropractor isn’t working this afternoon. More codeine and patience, then. Good thing I have lots of codeine.

@jg_rat A successful Burt-Roll, like all good comedy, is a matter of timing. :)

@M_Hickinbotham Congratulations on the new son! :)

@lesleywhite Thanks for the pointer re Valluto Nero cafe, though I shan’t have any more coffee today. Probably.

RT @stevencasey: Funny that opening “Entering the mobile ecosystem” link on my mobile crashes the browser… [That’s just too cool!]

via Twitter Web Client

Also, I am astounded at how many people responded to my tweet about that woman’s breakfast. http://is.gd/iiL9 Was it THAT interesting?

via Twitter Web Client

@fictillius I was silly enough to grab food at Town Hall Arcade. I keep forgetting it’s just a prole-trough of gruel.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to fictillius

Oh, and am I really out of date if I mention Google Mars? http://www.google.com/ma…

Loose in the Sydney CBD. The “teriyaki” “chicken” was crap. I’m not sure what to do now.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to lebard

@andrewbarnett No, I didn’t try because the TechCrunch article said that was a specific limitation and TechCrunch is ALWAYS true. ;)

via Twitter Web Client

Filling in a LinkedIn profile, and being moderately annoyed that I have to put “.” as a surname. Visually irritating. http://is.gd/ikX3

via Twitter Web Client

@jdub Google have indeed announced Latitude, but it only shares your location to Gmail contacts who you’ve paired with. Or can we hack it?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to jdub

@b3rn Not just ankle bracelets of criminals. I reckon track everyone, always, and tell @senatorconroy. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to b3rn

Cool. Instamapper has an API to pull out the last N locations etc. Anyone up for making a mashup to plot that in a live updater?

via Twitter Web Client

One thing, tho. Instamapper shared maps are static, i.e. no auto-refresh. Only logged-in users see a live auto-scrolling display.

via Twitter Web Client

@skribe Pfffft! Upgraded Nolia N96 from 10.065 to 12.043, all user data intact. Apps now have the security setting I want. :P

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

@skribe N96 has a separate user data partition. Virtually no data there though anyway, maybe 6 phone numbers.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

@skribe As I say, it is too late to consider that now. I’m halfway thru the blue bar of firmware upgrade goodness. Anyway, it’s just data.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

Maybe I should’ve backed up the phone as it suggested before doing the firmware upgrade. Ah, live dangerously!

via Twitter Web Client

@tigerinatube @funkycoda @BadTmy @BrendanB Correct, you can’t override the stupid setting. Maybe this firmware upgrade will help.

via Twitter Web Client

OK, Nokia fans, why do I have to manually approve the application for every network access? Where are the security settings?

via Twitter Web Client

@R_Chirgwin @JonoH @deanlk All working with Instamaper now. About to embed it into my website. ;)

via Twitter Web Client

@JonoH But does not Google latitude require you to pair with everyone individually? Shows in their Gtalk, not on the public web?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to JonoH

RT @middleclassgirl: Janet Alberchtsen is The Oz’s emergency page three girl.

via Twitter Web Client

@SnarkyPlatypus Sorry, did you just ask the Liberal Party to update its thinking? BWAHAHAHAHA!!!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SnarkyPlatypus

@deanlk Ta! http://instamapper.com is the tool! Free app/site, run it on GPS phone, creates Google map tracking your current position.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to deanlk

This SHOULD be easy. N96 GPS data, plot it on a map. Update, rinse repeat. Le sigh.

via Twitter Web Client

I need a tame mashup person. I’m really not interested in making the code bits but in using them as part of the media project. Volunteers?

via Twitter Web Client

@skribe @kdelarue Ah, Google Latitude seems to limit the broadcast of your location only to Gmail contacts.

via Twitter Web Client

RT @skribe: If your mobile Twitter client can geolocate then try this: http://is.gd/3HXR

via Twitter Web Client

@skribe Hang on. My attention has just been drawn to Google Latitude. http://is.gd/ikad Broadcast your location!

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

@skribe Oh I am happy to use Twibble for this purpose. :) As long as I don’t have to think too hard. Or @ApostrophePong can use Brightkite.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

@deanlk A feast is OK as long as it doesn’t have that obscene Bacon Explosion thing. That was scary. http://is.gd/hPKk

via Twitter Web Client in reply to deanlk

@skribe Oui, I installed Twibble. Hated its clunky interface. I use http://m.slandr.net instead. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

@skribe Will Google Maps for the phone allow me to have a website where the punters can see where I am?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to skribe

I’ll be liveblogging the Politics & Technology Forum on the morning of 26 Feb. You can REALLY blame MIcrosoft for that !http://is.gd/hCkF

via Twitter Web Client

There’ll be a “Stilgherrian Live Road Trip” Sydney to Yass to Canberra during the day. Need to link Nokia N96 GPS to a map somehow. Clues?

via Twitter Web Client

Oh, I mean Wed 25 Feb. The keys on this keyboard are not cooperating. Blame Microsoft. Hat-tip @Nickhodge. ;)

via Twitter Web Client

So, @ApostrophePong and I will be in Canberra on the evening of Wed 23 Feb with @Nickhodge. After our Road Trip. Blame Microsoft, as usual.

RT @jpoh: @stilgherrian are you small, squishy, lightly dusted with icing sugar and oh so yummy? [I am 2, possibly 3 of those things, yes.]

via Twitter Web Client

@SilkCharm BTW, it appears that we’re on another of THOSE lists of Twitterfolk. http://is.gd/ik1E @liamvickery is to blame.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to SilkCharm

@SilkCharm Thanks. I’m happy with that anti-censorship piece; good comment thread. http://is.gd/gUfQ Another one at http://is.gd/i2PN

OK, now I’m sorry I asked. Both of those questions. @GreenJ I’ll have some codeine and then call you.

via Twitter Web Client

@rbbrown And what’s a “Ped Egg”? That sounds “a bit Henson” too, if you ask me! @stephenconroy, do you have a comment?

via Twitter Web Client in reply to rbbrown

Why do journalists think I’m suddenly the go-to expert about how much pr0n there is on the Internet. Wait. Don’t answer that.

via Twitter Web Client

@rbbrown You know, if the Crikey office stopped watching Sky News you’d halve their audience overnight. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to rbbrown

@GreenJ Mind you, the label “a bit Henson” could be applied to half of TV adverts these days. The other half are for beer.

@R_Chirgwin While I can code, though, I don’t have time to develop it myself. It must be handled my minions, evil or otherwise.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to R_Chirgwin

@R_Chirgwin GPS to OpenStreetMap could work. InstaMapper already have the API to grab a table of your last GPS locations.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to R_Chirgwin

via Twitter Web Client

Thank you to everyone who contributed info overnight on displaying GSP locations. All good background, though my needs are quite specific.

via Twitter Web Client

Make that “awake”. I’m not sure if I’m “aware” yet. The lorikeets are being noisy today.

via Twitter Web Client

Emerges. Gosh, aware after 0800. That’s both god (length of sleep OK) and bad (day starts late, stress will be increased).

via Twitter Web Client

Time for me to disappear. A busy day tomorrow, and much of it in front of clients. With pants on. [exit]

@drunkenmadman No, actually, joining LinkedIn was only a recent example of a long, long series of mistakes. ;)

via Twitter Web Client in reply to drunkenmadman

And now I’m getting LinkedIn networking requests from people I’ve not even met yet. ;)

via Twitter Web Client

@skribe I’m not going to think any further about it, I’ll get a minion to do it. :)

@josh909 Yes, the firmware upgrade for the N96 provided the extra security settings missing from the original. Auto-update worked AOK.

via Twitter Web Client in reply to josh909

I will write a proper requirements spec in the morning.

via Twitter Web Client

@skribe I have to take photos to use Flickr. It must update from my phone’s GPS automatically while I’m doing other things.
